  The only 'white hat' methods are having such amazing and unique content that people start linking back to you site naturally and that isn't exactly something that happens quickly. All backlinking is what some people may call b.l.a.c.k hat because you're trying to fiddle a ranking system. Your competitors are simply fiddling it better than you are.

You are using SEO to get good ranking, right? White hat or black hat, it's all manipulation (not necessarily a bad word).

Stop complaining, Google owes you nothing. Start buying ads and see if you can make something scalable work. That way you might actually be able to build a real business.

Why don't you listen to what Jonathan is telling you and stop crying about Google. I haven't spent one day working or thinking about what Google is doing, and 60% of my traffic is coming from them and the balance is coming from the other search engines.

Building backlinks naturally? Exactly what is that? The only real way to build backlinks naturally is to create content so good that people naturally backlink to it.

And in case you aren't aware, when you start a thread, people will respond and may call you out on your position and state their own position. That's what a discussion is all about ... as you've already seen in this thread, some will not agree with you.

I did not give you an infraction. They are a waste of time. Try not to be a child when you start threads ... ok? As for my infractions ... they were all by idiots who think that disagreeing with someone is a reportable offense. As you can see, most were reversed and most were double infractions by idiots who think two is better than one. But it's of no consequence, as infractions do nothing. They are meaningless.

But back to the topic. I'm very interested in your views on natural backlinking and you didn't answer the question. What exactly do you consider natural backlinking?

That's exactly what natural backlinking is. If that's not happening with your site, you can give up or play the game like your competitors. There are plenty of ways to gain backlinks without spamming or using Black Hat techniques.

1. Make natural, relevant comments on related blogs.
2. Use social bookmarking
3. Create sites to link to your money site on free platforms like ... well, all those free platforms.

If you've got $5 to spend, these things can be done using Fiverr.

Anybody worth their weight in salt here has their share of infractions. Some dude gave me 3 of them the other day! He went through all my posts looking for instances in which I called someone a "knucklehead" or a bozo" and gave me an infraction for each one. I guess I could open a ticket and see if the mods can delete them for me but who has time for that sort of thing?

Both Suzanne and I tend to get an infraction about every six months, on the average.

This is largely because when a site is a piece of crap, we say "what a piece of crap" instead of trying to protect your precious self esteem.

If you just want your cane stroked, go show the site to your stupid little friends who don't know diddly-bupkus about internet marketing.

I learn from my mistakes and try to implement them into my work ; Now I know I have to read through my articles more than once. See , I'm learning-No spelling mistakes in this Paragraph?

What I see here is that you have a site which isn't ranking as high as you'd like. And you think the way other sites rank highly isn't fair.

I happen to agree on that. But that's only half the question. The rest of the question is, does your site deserve to rank highly?

Forget what other people are doing. You can't control them. All you can control is you.

The idea behind Google - or any search engine - is to deliver the best possible results to people who are searching. So if your site isn't up on the top of the rankings, it's because you're not the best possible result.

You might think other people aren't as good as you, but what you think doesn't matter. It's what Google thinks that matters, when it comes to search rankings.

So the question is, do you really want search rankings... or do you actually want something else?

Most people have this idea that ranking = traffic = money. But that's not entirely true. You can have a high ranking and still get no traffic. You can have a lot of traffic and still make no money. So if you spend too much time worrying about the ranking when it's not really what you want, you're just wasting time.

So if they are looking at content and links you can't do great on one and expect that you can ignore the other. Most of these sites have horrible links even though they may have thousands of them.

You have done the quality content, now do QUALITY LINKS and you will outrank your competition again... That is the operative word... COMPETITION. You have to learn how to do it better not sit and complain that you are getting pummeled.

The grammar & spelling police sure got to work in this thread!

If you're sites are being out ranked & it's angering you, use that energy as motivation to fight back.

Competition is something you need to face & deal with. Make sure your on page SEO is bang on, get out there & build as many back links as you need to beat the competition, or at least rank close to them.

More over you seem to be concentrating more on some of errors than the context of this post. Does the Title say" Please focus on my errors and Be a Troll?" No , It doesn't.

So for next time focus on the contextual meaning of the post and not to focus on other peoples mistakes , as you may/not know how long they had to write a post , which was not for the in due discussion about a couple of spelling mistakes I made , On a FORUM.

Whats more I know the Grammar Police would be out , they get so worked up ; when some one makes a Mistakes , I'm only Human and this wasn't supposed to be 12 Page essay-Of which I would spend allot Longer correcting and reading through.

You were the one who started it by complaining about the grammatical and spelling errors and the bad content in high-ranking sites. If you complain about other people's bad writing, what do you expect? Your writing is full of errors. Every sentence you write has a mistake in it. OK, Grammar mistakes on high ranking sites annoy me, but don't get up set between Traditional British which is the most common English used in the world, and American English, I don't say it is wrong, fone /phone, bank cheque / bank check, mum / mom etc I use both for my local market I am aiming at. figjam.co.uk, figjam.ca, figjam.com.au I use British English, I use Yank English the most to be honest as most of my sites are .com or .net aiming and a non general country. Sometime I even write in Eng-rish for Asian targets.

Two choices:

1. Accept the fact that for the time being at least, link building is necessary to get pages to rank.

2. Don't accept that and wait for super-high quality content to attract links naturally

Personally, I'll keep building links.

I don't mind people that Build Links naturally, That's MORE THAN FINE. I Just find it bad and annoying when people BUY links.

Yep googles results are simply the same as any other aspect of life, the rich get privileges and the poor get done over, so if you have tons of money to buy links and and pay for thousands of false links here and there then you will get good rankings. I foyu can't afford to buy loads of links from the internet slaves in the third world then you won't get good rankings. Nice huh !

Dont take this the wrong way but if you cant beat em then join him. It mite go against your ethics to a degree, but this IS business right? Another thing. If you already have a well optimised site with good content, then buying a couple of links would easliy see you climb above your competition as you are fighting with a double threat, quality and quantity.

You probably lost that much traffic because of the Panda update. A ton of people after Feb 24 and some again after early/mid April.

The update was meant to hurt those content farms. But, it has actually hurt alot of excellent content sites.

It's very unforunate. I'm really sorry you were caught in the crossfire!
