Newbie that is COMMITTED to IM, but a little misguided, seeking a clear direction to head in!

Hey all!

It's GREAT to be on the forum after lurking for a little while and seeing all of the value the members offer each other.

I'll try to make this as simple and clear as possible.

Several years ago I tried getting into IM (I was 16 at the time) but got lost in it all, and gave up. Now that I'm 21, I recently quit my job and am looking to "Play a bigger game" for myself and my life, and really want to be my own boss and create an Online Business that, once I've got it off the ground, will give me the freedom in my life to do other things I'm most passionate about (Music).

About 1 month ago I picked up Eben Pagan's "Ignition" program, which, according to him, was the most comprehensive step-by-step guide to starting and growing an online business. However, I feel that I'm not really getting the value out of it that I hoped for, as none of the lessons he teaches seem to go deep enough into HOW to implement each model.

Lately, I've noticed myself just getting lost and distracted, looking for a different program that might be more what I'm looking for.

Essentially, what I want is 2 things:

1) A short-term system I can use to generate a couple hundred bucks a week so I don't have to go find another part-time job (yuck)

2) A long-term (Blog?) system that I can pour my time and energy into, that will begin to at least make SOME money relatively quickly, and be able to grow and grow over time, so that once I'm at a level where I can outsource everything, I will be able to make six figures while simply maintaining my business 15-25 hours a week.

Which to me, both sound pretty reasonable.

Anyways, cutting to the point: I'm looking for the BEST step-by-step, newbie friendly, easy to understand and implement system out there, for starting, and growing an online business from SCRATCH, to the six figure mark.

I'm VERY committed to Internet Marketing, but my problem is that if I don't clearly understand the steps involved, I get distracted and its hard for me to focus and be productive. But once I get in the flow, hours will go by and I wont even notice.

So here is what I would LOVE any and all advice/support on. There are a couple of systems that I'm looking at that I *THINK* might fit what I'm looking for, and I'd love to know what you think of them, if you think they're a good fit for me, OR if you have another suggestion I would be TOTALLY open to it!

Here is what I'm looking at right now in order of interest:

1) Main St. Marketing Machines 2 Fusion - Essentially a revamped program which includes Traffic Geyser and a bunch of other stuff. Apparently gives you the tools to start your own consulting business for local small businesses. BUT I'm PARTICULARLY interested in one of the affiliate bonus packages that is out there, which includes: An iPad 2, A turn Key SEO'd blog built and designed specifically for you and the niche of your choosing, 1000 backlinks to that blog and some other cool stuff. It sounds pretty sweet and yes PM me if you want the link.

2) The Seven Figure Networker - This is a MLM system that's pitch offer sounds pretty sweet... Monthly membership of $49 bucks, but also seems a bit hypey and potentially scammy.

3) "$465 in 4 Hours" - this product I actually found on this website, from David McAlorum. From what all of the member responses have been and reviews of it on here are like, it looks legit and I figure this could be a great way for me to solve the short-term cash problem?

So that's what I'm thinking about. Main Street Marketing Machines looks pretty awesome, but I'm curious about if there's something else out there that I should commit to studying.

Also, YES I know that these programs will onlywork if you take action. I just need to understand clearly WHAT ACTIONS TO TAKE AND in what order and I'll happily take them!

oh and ALSO, I do have skills. I'm a dating coach and charge up to $500/month. If I was able to get a lot of leads to my blog for dating, and get 3-5 clients for dating coaching, that would also solve all my short-term cash problems. So if there's a smart, quick way to do that I'd love to hear about it.

I'm also a killer salesman so I can offer sales coaching to people too for $1000/month.

Anyways, thats a lot of info so I'll end it there, but would *LOVE* any and all feedback that you have to offer! I'm REALLY eager to start pumping away building an online business, and I just need some guidance on how to best structure my learning process so that I can make something FANTASTIC that offers lots of value to people!

Thanks for reading, eager to hear the responses you have!

Much Love,
Adalamba

i say, the best thing you can do is package your expertise and sell it. you say youre an awesome salesperson, well package that and selling for a high value.

actually follow these steps and i garantee you will succeed in anything you do:

    FIRST. Identify a Hungry-Reachable_Buying Audience
SECOND. Deliver Amazing Value and Content
THIRD. Position Yourself as an Authority
FOURTH. Give a High Value Solution to All Your Clients
Fifth. Always have a Strategic Offer Sequence
SIxth. Reinvest the Money You Make Back Into The Cycle

    Hi
Im also 21 years old, I know how you feel. It took a lot of searching and ready for me to begin.

The best advice I can tell you is to pick something and stick to it. When I first started out I would switch to a different method every time one popped up lol.

I would say pick a method that you can be able to earn from fairly quickly, I saw this mainly for 2 reasons:
    1. you will see money coming in a lot faster
    2. It will build your confidence,so that you will have the motivation to move ahead.
I feel its no wrong way to go with the many different methods available as long as you find one that you are comfortable with and stick to it.

Many of the replies above are spot on but I would urge you to try & stop getting distracted and get on & DO IT. There's nothing like the real experience of getting stuck in, yep you'll make mistakes we all do but you are learning all the time and gradually you'll find little by little the success will come

The most important thing for you, as far as I know, would be to
sit down and really think about what you can provide and what you want to achieve.
List it, run down your ideas to a paper and focus on one thing at the time.

If you are not focusing, you will have a much harder way ahead.

      Good luck

It's great to see that you're so committed to being successful online.

However, I hate to sound like a broken record, but there truly isn't a realistic way to generate "fast cash" consistently that will solve your cash flow issues, at least not right off the bat in IM. Building a real business takes time, and it usually doesn't generate much cash (if anything at all) while you're starting up. Try offering IM related services for the time being to resolve your cash flow issues.

As for your long-term plan of action, among all the options you've listed I'd say that Main Street Marketing Machines is probably your most realistic shot at building a six figure business. Offline marketing is not for everyone though. Don't believe the hype that says you can land 4 and 5 figure clients just sending off emails - if you're going to succeed at this, you're going to have to be very comfortable with talking on the phone with clients, and possibly also meeting them face to face. It's going to entail a fair amount of interaction with clients and prospects.

If you're not able and willing to do this, it's going to be pretty hard to break into the offline arena. So ask yourself these tough questions first before even thinking of buying this course, which isn't exactly inexpensive. I'd hate to see you waste your money on something that you cannot implement.

You need to stay committed this time.

Since you now have no job, you should be able to focus
on your online business 100%. One of the things I noticed
is that you said you are interested in all of these new and
extremely shiny products. I'll save you a headache that will
    happen...

    Stop buying products for now...

Find something that works for you and try to find ways to scale
that method up. This will take time of course, but as long as you
are committed, I don't see an issue here or a reason why you won't
    succeed.

Here's what I would do if I could start over again....

I would create a screen capture video and sell it as a WSO. Of course give away massive value, build up a list, and then sell them more stuff...

You will need to MASTER copywriting. Seriously, learning how to get people to buy is "your ticket" to live any life you want.

Plus, if you ever need quick cash flow, there are plenty of people that will pay good money for a copywriter...

Focus on creating incredible products and building a list.

The main thing above all is to take action.

    Do something

Get a working model up and running

You are more than halfway done when you reach this point
