How to speed up your success!

Hey Warriors,

Just thought I'd drop by and give some value because I've been pretty busy working on SEO and other stuff (it's a great feeling when you know what you have to do to get results).

Anyway, being on your way to "online success" doesn't have to take long, 16 hour "work" days and slaving away for months or even years...

And after hanging out on several different marketing forums, one thing remains true - if you keep buying stuff you don't need RIGHT THIS MOMENT, you are going to confuse yourself and chase your own tail indefinitely (which wastes time and causes failure - happened to me several years ago).

Here's a kickass tip for you...

This is what I like to call "on the fly" learning (I got this from some audio, but it was probably one of the most helpful things I learned ever)...

What "on the fly" learning is, is that you only learn to get the information you need at the moment.

In other words, don't go off on a goose chase looking for stuff that you can't apply immediately.

Example: Let's say you want to create your own product.

Now, for many, the thoughts of "product creation" could quickly become overwhelming and prevent you from even starting!

You'd probably think about... setting up the website...payment links...sales copy... how you're going to get traffic... affiliates... yada yada yada.

Listen... the secrets aren't going to go anywhere!

They will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS be there. Several years ago when I started (and quit for a while), "they" were always saying the same thing.

This was the ONLY way to succeed, or that the products were going off the market forever and I'd fail without them.

Relax!

...because you probably feel (or have felt) the same sense of "gotta have it now" too - and bought everything under the sun - take the example above to heart and realize that you're not missing out on anything.

They will be here forever, and as marketers you should realize that these are just tactics to get you to act ASAP. Don't hate people for it, it's nothing personal, just business

Now, getting back to our example up there...

You can clearly see how easy it is to think ahead of all the "challenges" you will eventually face. I put the word challenge in quotations, because most people make it more difficult than it should be!

That's where the common mistake of trying to figure out everything at once kicks in - fight the urge to buy and learn all those things at the same time! Self discipline is crucial.
When you use this simple "on the fly" learning technique, you'll be able to get a handle on what you need to know FAST.

You won't need to deal with "information overload" or getting confused about what to do next... and when you break things down into bite size chunks like this, you'll be able to plough through almost any internet marketing challenge.

Take this and run with it!

Massive success to all warriors,
Dean

I totally agree with you. The IM business is all about self-discipline, dedication, structuring your work and figure out what's working for you. Build your business step-by-step and believe in yourself. Learning by burning is the best way anyone can learn.

This is very true. You have to find what's working for you because while something may work for someone else does not mean that it will work for you too.

Dean, great tips. Thanks for sharing.

Great Post. This is a good thread to give me a boost in the middle of the week! I have been doing this for a while now and still sometimes get "information overload" now and then. I like the "on the fly" technique and will keep that in mind to help with productivity

Dean, these are great tips. I find that many newbies want to figure out everything all at once. This usually does not result in anything beneficial or productive, because they then end up trying to figure out every last detail before they feel comfortable with implementing something, and this can result in a delay of a few weeks, a few months, or even a few years.

Don't try to bite off more than you can chew. This is my favorite metaphor for the scenario - "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time."

      That's a great analogy Paulie!

      Definitely fits the IM mindset.

The biggest mistake I made was thinking I had to know it all before I had even thrown myself into the fires of online entrepreneurship (it's not really that dramatic, trust me)... but the journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step!

One of the flaws of being self employed with internet marketing is feelings overwhelmed with all that you want to accomplish.
