Best Place fro affordable Comic /Illustration Artist

Always find some useful resources through Warriors. I need someone to do Comic style illustrations and was wondering if any warrior knows of a Crowdsoure or freelance site for those kinds of artists? Would like several to choose from. Thanks

This might sound odd but a lot of tattoo artists will do this as well.

I think a lot of tattoo artists get over looked in this sort of field. I'm not talking about the ones who just make "tribal art" of course, but search around for some tattoo parlors. You might be surprised on what you might find (as well as them too!)

      Good luck!

I tried to hire a tattoo artist to create a 120x600 banner ad for me and he insisted on putting it on my arm.

What would an overweight stick figure look like? Is it drawn with a really thick line?

      Edit: I got this

Are you looking for somebody who's first language is English and costs a fair few dimes, or somebody whos first language isn't English and works for pennies?

I'm looking for some one that can give me a few panels each month of what would look like a real comic book you'd pull off the shelf. Not cartoon but comic style closer to Manga but not necessarily that genre. I guess think Spiderman. Marvel kind of stuff

Outside of being able to communicate what I want language of the artist is immaterial. I'm not looking for a fiverr gig type. I need someone who I can work with ongoing. Sorry I don't know of many artists that do consistent quality that would work for $5 a pop ongoing.

So I am guessing there are no sites that offer freelance illustrators as their main focus?

I recommend using Fiverr to TEST OUT their skill first. Many of the artists on Fiverr have their own sites and just offer the Fiverr gigs to get their name out there or build a portfolio.

Buy a Fiverr gig and explain that you want one pic which you would use to see if they would be suitable for ongoing larger projects - most will jump at the chance

Make sure that you are clear in your description that you are not looking to bypass Fiverr, but rather will use Fiverr for the small job and that the larger job would be too big to run through Fiverr

I'm looking for help from someone asap.

I need an overweight couple, (man and woman) stickman characters that look worn out and tired

Then the same couple, normal thin stickmen that look energetic, fit and happy.

just simple basic stickmen drawings that will be used to advertise a business. I need to add my sales copy and print them off for flyers....Looking for 2 copies for a standard page size.

I've gotten a couple of shirt designs made at fiverr that I liked. One guy I liked so I made a deal and buy directly from him, and pay him more $5.

      Didn't forget

Thanks for the suggestions but no Google is great for many things (and I am an SEO professional so I truly believe that) but getting recommendations (Which involves experiences people have had with services) is not one of them. Communities give much better results and consensus in cases like this where you are not just looking for a set product but someone you will want work with and trust.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Try posting a job offer on the bulletin boards at local community colleges. Visit with the art instructors, let them know what you're wanting to do and ask for student recommendations.
