Why are there no backlinks showing

Why is it that even though I have gone through the trouble of getting backlinks for my website - I use Angela's - why is it that when I do a check for links it shows zero. Also when I use diagnosticoweb it says GoogleBot Last Visit N/A

If anyone can shed some light on this and tell me what I am doing wrong I would be most grateful.

How old are the backlinks? If you just made them in the past week they may not be showing yet.

also, if you are flipping and using the www and sometimes not, you will need to check both.

It is the page in my sig. When I do a link:domain.com in google it comes up with a blank. My backlinks are more than 3 or 4 weeks old now.

its probably because youre using Google to check. I have some sites that show 1 or 2 backlinks in google, and hundreds in Yahoo.

I find I have that problem, too. Different backlink checkers give me different results. It drove me crazy for a while, but what can you do?

It takes a while for links to become effective, the best way to deal with it is to stop checking and keep building more links.

If it really concerns you then send links from a social bookmarking site or two to the pages that link to you, that way you'll be increasing the chances of that site being crawled and indexed which, in turn, will flow on to your site.

Google never shows all back links, but Yahoo seems to do that.To check backlinks in Google, go to http://www.google.com, and put in the search box: link:http://www.yourwebsiteaddress.xxx
