Hi Guys,

When people buy my product they receive digital DVDs in MP4 format. I have no problem watching or downloading them. I have only sent it to one affiliate, she is having problems where after two minutes she can't download anymore, it freezes, any ideas why guys?

The videos are fine, i've watched the whole thing and I have no probs :-S

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks and kind regards,
Dharam

I always pack (compress) the downloadable videos in zip files.

And what format will it be in when they unzip it?

      Many thanks,

I don't really get what are you asking...

Any file that goes through zipping/unzipping remains the same type of file.
If it was .doc > it stays doc.
It it was .mp4 > it stays mp4.

Zipping or unzipping does NOT change the file type (extension).

    Hi Dharam,

If the vast majority of your purchasers aren't having any problems, then the problem is on her side. Maybe slow internet connection.

Advise her to try downloading off-peak, sometimes this helps.

    or

Why not upload the video to YouTube and make it private, then send her the link?

I agree, that if you're sending the file as a download, you need to compress it into a zip file. And then you need to have several people test the download to make sure that they receive it.

It helps if you compress (zip) the file.

How big is the file and how are you delivering it (are you using something to protect it like DLGuard)?

May be you can upload your video files to a CDN such as amazon or rack-space cloud. There will be no problems regarding server load etc.

The video files are uploaded to Amazon S3.

If other people are able to download it, then it's true that it's probably something on her end. For example she may be trying to download onto a computer that is already full. - Or she may have an internet provider that puts a governor on their bandwidth.

I said this earlier garyv. I don't really see any point in changing your entire download process for 1 client.

If she can't download them, then it's better to send her to a place where she can stream them.

If I have time I try to offer both Flash and MP4.
There are free Video Format Convertors on the Web.
Provide a link to download Flash in case they have problems.
At least one format should always work.
This has resulted in almost zero support tickets for me
when it comes to Video Downloads.

    Hope this helps Dharam.
