Amazon and Clickbank on same page?

Hi Warriors!

I've been lurking around these forums for a couple months now and have found answers to most of my questions already posted. I searched for this but haven't found anything addressing it...

Is there any reason I wouldn't be able to have Amazon products listed on a page with a "buy from amazon" button and a related clickbank product ad as a banner or in the sidebar?

For example:
Say I had a site where users could buy "pet rat shoes" and I listed the Amazon descriptions, review snippets, price and had a link to buy from amazon. Could I also have a banner for a clickbank product that details how to "find pet rat shoes for free" on the same page?

    • Yea this should work fine. I've seen it on quite a few sites. As long as you are happy that it is something your visitors would like to see then I say go for it.

From my experience I usually only promote one product per page as I've found this works better. If I have a product eg., rordrill786 from amazon then my keyword will be rordrill786 or buyrordrill786 or another buyer keyword. The whole page will be dedicated to that product only as I am looking to convert people already interested in buying. I don't want another product to distract possible buyers from making a purchase.

Same with Clickbank, if you are promoting eg, fastweightloss then dedicate that page to that product. Offering another product can lead to confusion with the visitor and ultimately lower conversions. Remember that a clickbank product will always convert better once you have captured the email address of the prospect and sent follow-up mailings to them. It can take four or five emails to get the sale.

I agree with the Eagle. Each page should funnel your readers to your most desired outcome (the Amazon product or the clickbank product). Make it the only obvious choice above the fold (that includes AdSense and all other ads that will take them off your site).

If you want, you can put other options farther down the page as fallbacks. Make sure to put valuable content in between to keep people reading.

For instance, if (and only if -- otherwise make a new page) ALL of your products apply to the same keyword:

      Valuable content
      ---
      Clickbank offer (highest commission)
      ---
      valuable content
      ---
      Amazon product (next highest commission)
      ---
      valuable content
      ---
      AdSense (lowest commission)
