Hey guys, I just started putting my blog together today. I haven't been sending any traffic to it yet because I want to make sure it is of good quality.

I have only published one post so far, in the next day or so I will be adding some more.

If you don't mind taking a few minutes to check it out that would be awesome. Let me know what you think. Comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here's my Blog: Naturally Getting Rid of Acne

Good start. You'll want some more posts (you're doing that I see). I would also get your own domain and hosting. I like the background.

Next, add content and build backlinks (after getting your own domain).

Did you really suffer from acne? Do you have before and after photographs? That would help your credibility and sales.

Nice job on the post. The word count is in line with a decent size post - generally 300 - 700 words. My question is what is the keyword phrase that you are trying to rank for? "acne" is too broad. You should try to put the keyword phrase in the first, middle and last paragraph to provide keyword density and for ranking purposes.

Definitely looking good. I just recently started my own blog and have started putting content on it. Some really good tips there too! I'm in the middle of getting mine set up on its own domain... everyone I've talked to that is into blogging said it is one of the first important improvements someone can make with their blog.

I know the keyword that I used for this post is a very good one, but am I properly using it?

I used the longtail keyword in my title, introduction, and conclusion. Is there anything I should do to my keywords like put them in anchor text? Or will google pick those keywords up automatically?

Once I publish a few more posts on my blog I will be writing articles each day, along with building backlinks from other sources.

Thanks for all the nice words everyone! That makes me even more motivated to work on this campaign.

Yes, I have suffered from acne, I still somewhat do but not as bad as I used to. I have noticed a significant difference in my acne by the foods I eat and the amount of water I consume daily.

When you say to make a domain name, I am assuming that you mean buy a domain name from godaddy, like a .info domain and have it forwarded to my blog? Ex: naturallygettingridofacne.info ? When people click on that domain name it will forward them to my blog, and that will be my official blog link?

I'd really like an suggestion/answer to this question:

I know the keyword that I used for this post is a very good one, but am I properly using it?

I used the longtail keyword in my title, introduction, and conclusion. Is there anything I should do to my keywords like put them in anchor text? Or will google pick those keywords up automatically?

Ok you are starting ok, it looks nice, its a simple light theme and it is good, I would rather put the description of my profile on the sidebar at the very top, so the first thing you do is build trust, definitely more posts would be nice so people have something to add more value to their knowledge... to your success..

great first post. A couple things to keep in mind:

    Who are you targeting?
sure, everyone's had a bout with acne, but it'd be great if you could target a specific age group, gender, etc. tailor your words and speak their language. once you do that, find out where they hangout.

    make friends with other bloggers
the saying goes is to make friends with people you need a year or two earlier before you need them. make friends and/or establish a mentoring relationship with other acne bloggers. it'll reap rewards in the end (guest posts being viewed by tons of qualified traffic)

otherwise, great site and keep that quality content coming

    Cheers,
    Patrick

looks good buddy. I suggest building as many backlinks as you possibly can. Check out fiverr.com and click on the social marketing tap on the right, then choose backlinks and organize by rating. .Edu and .Gov links are the best ones but there are alot of other great gigs that are offered and it only costs 5 bucks. Also, write as many articles each day as you can and target different keywords related to your niche. Then submit them to the top directories(ezine, goarticles, free-press-release.com etc.) and obviously always make sure to link back to your site. You're on the right track man just keep at it, it might take a while to see some results but they will come

    Hi.
    My pieces of advice:
    1. Write at least 2-3 articles per day, in the first 3-4 months, just so you can attract visitors and subscribers.

    2. In time, move on a private domain or a .com. You'll see that blogging platforms limit you.

    3. I'm going to tell you what happened to me. One of my blogs is on a free wordpress platform. I've had it for the past 3 years. Everything was going smoothly, google page rank 4, over 70 000 visits, a lot of subscribers and not to mention unique visitors. It was also visible on google, with original content - approx. 99% . Everything was ok until one day, when wordpress considered they don't like my advertorials and articles related to different products and, without further notice, my blog went down. Suspended.

So make sure you don't stay on blogspot or wordpress too long.
Plus, it seems you'll have to pay a few extra dollars per year if you wish to redirect your blog from the old one, to the new address.

Goodluck with your blog and may you have lots of visitors and comments!

A blog is great for generating income. The content management features of the popular blogging platforms make it so much easier to work with than a traditionally coded HTML site.

          1) I would change to a wordpress powered blog on your own domain. You want to own your online real estate, rather than leasing it.

          2) Use a theme or plugins like all-in-one-SEO pack that support good SEO. Keyword research your posts and post titles.

          3) Definitely keep up a solid posting schedule of 4 - 6 posts a week for the first few months. You'll get some nice SE love that way, and if your posts are good, you may get some natural links from other sites.

          4) Enter some of your best posts in blog carnivals. Health and fitness is still one of the categories where there is some opportunity in the carnival realm.

          5) Try to get some guest posts on some of the more established blogs that relate to your niche. You could also hit some niches where your blog would hold some interest, like dating, and do posts there. You'll begin some nice relationships with other, more established bloggers. That can come in handy down the road when you start to develop products. You'll also get some nice backlinks from the other blogs to help in SEO. Last, but not least, guest posting will give you some exposure and traffic from the other blogs. You'll be seen by a whole, different audience.

          6) Let some other bloggers guest post on your blog. Many times, they'll publicize it on their blogs, giving you even more exposure. IN addition, when they guest post on your blog, make sure they give their post the appropriate social bookmarking love. That will get their guest post, and by extension, your blog more visitors and exposure.

          7) Get a facebook plugin that asks visitors to like and share you on face book via a slide in, pop under, or some other such mechanism. There are a few WSOs with a plugin for that.

          8) Start a twitter feed where you can tweet your posts out, and any other great info relating to your niche. In time, that will come in handy. Make sure you have a prominent button so people can sign up for your tweets.

Also, whoever said to change your header was right on target. You don;t need to spend a fortune on your own custom logo, but you should be able to spend $30 - $60 and get something nice, if you can't create your own on GIMP or paint.net

    Hi:

    Shireen here :-)

Overall is great. Here's some of my suggestion:

    - provide some quality content from time to time.
    - create a professional looking header (you can outsource it)
    - add some google adsense
    - add in some clickbank, paydotcom products to generate affiliate income

My blog is not perfect, but you can have a look for reference...

Your website can be a blog. You can even transfer your whole site at Blogger to your own domain by changing a few setting (just search in the help menu in Blogger).

Anyway, I personally feels that Wordpress.org has much more to offer. But if you already got your own hosting, you don't need to download anything from Wordpress. org but using the "Fastastico" in the cPanel to install a Wordpress blog. It sounds complicated but it's easy to figure out.

Next, you need an FTP program on your PC to upload more suitable theme to replace the default theme for your affiliate marketing purpose. There are ready made themes with Widget+Adsense for a small fee but free themes are as good (just need to spend some time going through them).

    Well good luck!

A guest post is when someone other than the author of the blog (meaning someone other than you) writes and publishes an article on your blog.

For example, I don't allow people to guest post directly on my blog, but I do allow them to send me their article via email so I can review it and if it is ok, then I post it on the blog.

This generates visitors, it's a good way of letting the reader know what other reader has to say.

I think the experienced Warrior users can give you specific details, I'm just trying to keep this simple, so you can understand the basics.

That is how I handle guest posts as well. You'd have to trust someone to a very high degree to allow them unfettered to post on your blog. Some of the larger blogs are actually collaborations, and that is how they handle it. All the authorized posters can post whenever their post is ready. Some of these blogs are the work of 2 or 3contributors, whiel there are even some that have 6 - 10 people regularly contributing posts.

When your blog is the work of so many, you have to make sure the legal aspects are really nailed down regarding posting responsibility, ownership, revenue share and the other details than ensure everyone gets their fair share, does their fair share, and gets the appropriate piece of the pie should the blog be sold.

Do you think you aught to expand the niche a little. It seems to me your content well could dry up quick.

What would be a good way to expand this niche? I also feel like I may run out of things to write about, I want to be able to keep writing fresh content.

Maybe expand by writing about other skin conditions and solutions? possibly find another CB product that is related to skin problems?

Would it be a good idea to change my blog into a skin care type blog rather than focusing directly on acne?

This way I could write articles about acne, other (specific) skin conditions and I can direct all of them toward my blog, which would be full of information for skin care.

Or should I continue to try writing about acne and see what happens first before I get too involved with sub-niches?

Let me know what you guys think would work best.

Thanks for all of the great advice so far, it has helped me out a lot.

Expanding will give you more to work with, though if you decide to stick with acne you an always review natural acne remedies. I'm sure there are books and natural products all over that you could review, though having new content everyday will get tough.

I've already spent a lot of time on chosing my product, keywords, and setting up my blog. I feel a little discouraged because I'm starting to realize that there isn't really enough to write about on acne. Seems as if there is only but so much to write about.

I'm not sure if I should just stop while I am ahead and find a better niche to focus on, because I keep putting more time and effort into this campaign. Especially if its going to come to a dead end and I run out of stuff to write.

    any suggestions would be great!

Good job so far. The stuff is real. It's coming from someone who has been there, done that. There's plenty to write about. Why not go with a little story about how you felt with a face full of zits.

Maybe talk about how the kids teased you or laughed or called you names. Or how embarrassed you were to approach the babes. Then you found the product and started using it. And then all the embarrassment started to fade away as your face cleared and you got a bunch of confidence.

You don't need to make every post a bunch of tips on what to do. If anything, you might have too much up there. Probably not but again, it might be time for the feel, felt, found approach. It goes like this:

Do you have embarrassing acne? Man, do I know how you feel. I felt the same way when my own face broke out all the time. I searched the entire planet for a cure and even looked under a few rocks I was so desperate. And then it finally happened. Something that worked and worked really well. Let me tell you what I found... If you've got some before and after pics throw them up too. Build credibility.

Now you're relating to people who are where you once were. You don't have to write it up exactly the way I have. That's just sort of an example. Don't give up. You've done a lot of work and can make this pay. You might even start cruising other acne blogs and see what they're doing. Not to copy but to get ideas. Then put them into your own words. You've got something good here. Stay with it. Good luck!

Just a note on your domain - if you are sticking with Blogger you need to set up your domain properly. It seems to be on a redirect currently to the blogspot address. If you search Blogger Help it tells you how to do it. Or you could export it all to a self-hosted Wordpress blog......

Thanks everyone, your advice was really encouraging. I put together two pictures of myself, before when I had acne, and a recent picture with no acne. I just haven't posted it on my blog yet.

TRAVLNGUY, thanks a lot for your advice. It was very helpful. I wasn't exactly sure what I could keep putting on my blog. But I can deffinetly whip up something about my personal experiences and how my life has changed so much from having clearer skin. This really helped me a lot.

I also don't know how to post pictures on my blog yet, so I guess I will have to figure that out.

Tonight I will try to set up my own hosting instead of using the blogger URL

I am going to put up one more post on my blog and then work on writing articles and sending traffic. I will also continue to regularaly post on my blog, I am even going to do a review on the product I am promoting.

      Thanks again

You're welcome on the advice. Here's a little more. Keep the blogger blog up and put up your own site as well. And when you get the hang of it all, put up a bunch of blogs all dealing with natural acne cures. Some people call natural healing stuff holistic. Do a search on holistic acne cures for more info.

Keep the content coming to all of you blogs and you'll really start kicking butt. Just keep cruising the acne sites for ideas on content and write them up in your own words. Stay with it. You're going to learn a lot about marketing and even more about yourself. Good luck.

I have learned so much about internet marketing in the past few months, a couple months ago it was just an idea and now I am putting it to work. I hope that I can see some sales from this campaign once I start driving traffic to my site.

I am really determined to make this work one way or another and learning from this experience so that I can expand and do even bigger things! Right now I am in the process of learning all the basics and getting the feel for everything and I know that the second time around will be even easier and I will have more knowledge to grow on.
          Thanks again for the encouragement.

A nice blog - well done.
Some things you could do for extra traffic are:

Join Ezine articles and other article directories and submit some articles
    to them.

This will help with high Google ranking and it will increase your traffic.

Also if you join some blog directoires every time you post an article on
your blog it will be posted to each blog directory you have joined - this
    will get you more exposure.

    Hope this helps.

Looks good! I'd add more great content and provide some more helpful information. Unique content is key! Also, acne can be found on the back too so adding some treatments for that would be helpful as well.

The graphics are pretty good, your background looks good. My guess is that you need a header for this blog, the design would help a lot! ). You can put adsense ads to earn money if you will bring traffic to your blog. Niche does not seem the best. You can try to find the right keywords with Google Keyword Tool. Thanks. ( I can create a good header for you for just $5 , find me on fiverr, my username is vladex16 )

Nice start! Work on monetizing it! Get an opt-in form up there so you start building your list. Make sure the blog is not leaking - meaning there's only one way off the page and that's to your product or the optin form. Also include disclaimers/privacy policy for compliance.

This is all some really good info you guys are giving me, so once I start driving traffic to my blog, I will be having success. lol

I am already using good keywords that I got from google keyword tool, they are spread throughout my blog and in my title.

I am trying to find out information on transferring my blog to my own hosting, but I am having a hard time finding what I need. I already have my domain name:http://naturallygettingridofacne.com but now I am not exactly sure how to do my own hosting. I read something about using wordpress? Not sure, but am I able to switch hosting with the domain I already purchased?

Your blog looks good. I like how clean it is. The content is well organized and informative. I'd do another post or two, just to make sure that there is plenty of content. After that, you should be good to go.

Nvm,scratch the above post. I figured out how to do it, I am working it now.

But do any of you guys see my link for the product I am promoting ( Acne No More)? Everytime I view my own blog the link is GREY and it does not stand out, is there a better way to make the link stand out ? It should be blue I think

When you guys visit my site, does my Acne No More link show up BLUE? Everytime I view my page, even if i'm signed out, it is gray. I hope that's not how its showing up for everyone else. IF it is not blue or noticable, what do I need to do in order to make it stand out?

Btw, I am now hosting with my own domain, Thanks everyone for the great advice
