Hi all, are you actively doing youtube marketing? If yes, do you get the result that you want? I personally have one video in youtube close to 800 thousand views, and I put my links there, but I get not much traffic from there. I track with google analytics.

What do you think?

  • Of course it is...

Do people go to youtube to search for things...

As long as people go to search there... you will have money in that market... now how to reach that pot may be different in different niches but yes there is money to be made by youtube marketing....

Do you count branding as making money too... you tube can be very effectivly used to build brands.

    • How about a video that is not really relevant to your product? Anyone get good conversion rate also? My video close to 800 thousand views, but not really relevant to my product, haha..

  • One video is hardly a valid sample size. I think you need more
    range in your test data.
  • Guys, how do you actually bring traffic to your videos ?

Is it essentially with vid SEO, or do you use also paid traffic ?
  • You want a stong call to action to make people to click on the link in the description box.

Also, use the anotations to tell people to check out the link and make arrows like this:

    l
    l
    l
    l
    l
    V
    V

These act as eye guiders leading the visitor to your link.

    Hope this helps

  • I have a video up on youtube that is a "How-To Guide" and it converts for me because these people are looking for answers and those anwsers lead to a buying mood.

    • I think for youtube we no need to paid for traffic, the traffic will naturally come if your put the good relevant keyword tag, plus the video at least bring some interest to people.

I realize video like funny, crazy, how to do this/ so that.. might bring good traffic.

Anyway, I am curious anyone of you do a Google Keyword research before type in the keyword tag?

Putting the right keywords in the video as well as in the right category will help others to find the video under 'Similar videos' as well as through searches in YouTube.
  • Yes it does. People Always like video reviews, People representation. It always helps them choose right product.
Regarding Traffic, It depends on how well the video is made.
  • Submit your video again with catchy niche related title and you will get traffic from you tube as well.
  • 800 000 views and no traffic, hmmm i think you must be doing something wrong or the video you have is totally unrelated to the traffic you are trying to drive. I think the fact you have a video has so many views proves youtube marketing is still effective however it is how you handle the traffic and make your offer stand out, just market it a little better and you will be on your way,

    • Looks like you might not be attracting your target market and that is why no one is buying. Check your keywords to make sure they are "buying keywords". Example would be "string bikini" or "red string bikini" > the second would more likely be a buyer.
  • Hi Steve Lim,

You need to do some test on your link,
    you already have the traffic,
so now twist your link abit by making
    some changes, monitor for awhile,
if no results, then made another
changes or add in some other
eye catching words or logo or
    pictures.
I am sure you will get what you want
    if you try harder.
Good luck and wish you success.
  • Youtube marketing is always effective. It shouldn't be your only source of traffic, but it's still really useful. It's great for branding as well.

  • Yes, my number 1 source of traffic are my youtube videos. I post one or two per week.
  • I think these days video is getting better and the quality also. So it will be more competitive, but the same thing applies people are after hard core info that can help them. If you can do this, then you have already won in my eye.

I am still suprised how well people react to video. And websinars too. they seem to be working well and have good conversion rates, you can also show you users proof. That is the big thing that fence sitters need.
  • Youtube is awesome for traffic generation, you just need to know how to target it. Are you a member of any CPA network? It's best to use quick offers such as zip submits or email submits.

You can also use amazon, they have alot of different products that I'm sure something would match your video with.

    Good luck!
  • If the video is oriented for people who are ready to buy and you add a relevant link, I don't see why it shouldn't work. So make sure you post videos on subjects like "iPad reviews" instead of "How to get grocery shop on budget".
  • it must be something wrong with your video/description. 800k view with low click through rate is bad, try offer free CPA there, it works well..
  • I agree with what many people are saying here-make sure that your video matches it's tags....otherwise people will get there that are looking for something else and will move on.
  • I am a youtube M. myself and I can tell you it's still is a cash machine.

  • Try putting annotations. They work amazingly well, combined with a buffer time function, that 5 seconds of the 800,000 viewers will be focused on your advert.
  • My rate for Youtube 3000 views get 2-3 sales for one video.

    • Hey guys, thanks so much for the information and advice, will optimize again, really have to do something and make it right. If not is really wasting all the traffic there!
    • 3000 views and 2-3 views I think is good for me!
If 800 thousand views probable about 800 sales.

How about other members? Do you get similar sales conversion?
