Why wont people notice your great content?

Hi all,

I know that surviving in the online world is quite hard. You have to drive visitors to your content or you fail! So if you clicked this thread with this question: "why wont I get visitors to your posts"? , you came to the right post! Enjoy!

With all of these new sites appearing by the minute, there's a greater chance your blog will be swept out with the tide, but here are five things you can do to give your blog some extra "umph!" and staying power.

Utilize Social Media
Try keeping a strong presence with Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Make sure you update frequently and provide interesting, original content.

Content Rules
Unless your site contains timely, well-written articles, it won't get the attention of major search engines like Google (which recently implemented a system that screens sites for content quality and originality, to prevent false ranking spikes by Black Hat SEO companies.)

Don't overwhelm your readers with huge ad blocks or too many ads per page or per post. These might currently still look acceptable to the search engines, and may appear to increase rankings, but if you lose a reader the moment he arrives because the number or quality of ads turned him off, you may soon find yourself relying almost exclusively on first time visitors.

Hope this will help you when building a high traffic website/blog.

Best Regards,
Akos

I find that unique tidbits of information interest visitors a lot
It's all about the entertainment value.

Information, I normally place them in articles. They really help to drive traffic towards my niche sites if done well. Though I had my fair share of the different kind of CTRs.

    Best regards,
    Winston

Totally agree Akos, I can't stand when I go to a site and it is just totally filled with ad blocks that look out of place or unprofessional. On the other hand the ads that blend in with the site make the site look very presentable and are not a bother at all, and will even entice me to click here and there.

    Good post bud.

    There's a saying that I love...

"The one that provides the most value wins."

Absolutely true. First look to give away massive value before asking for anything in return -- once you do this "miracles" will start to happen!

Don't forget. If you've got a blog, you don't need to write a novel for each blog post. Simply post unique content on a regular basis with a twitter update plugin and you're get good rankings (depending on the niche you're in).

This is true, although I don't suggest making absolutely terrible blog posts either. I usually aim for 200-500 words.

Even great content won't get read if you format it poorly. Walls of text can chase people away.

Remember to break your written content up with generous amounts of white space.

Also, use sub-headings frequently. They help skimmers and scanners zero in on the info they're looking for. They are also great SEO tools.

"Give in order to get" works with traffic.

Comment on other blogs (that preferably have the ComLuv plugin) and they should return the favor. Make sure your blog titles are enticing because that's what people see with ComLuv. Retweeting others' posts is a good way to give too.

Interesting posts with unique slants, lots of white space, graphics, and a good size font all help.

People with crap content may get more readers than people with golden content if the crap content maker knows a thing or three about advertising!

Have any of you known of any crap content writers who were successful ?
