I get excited by *weird* things...

Hey all,

You might already know this, but if not....It may make you as excited as it did for me...(or not)..

I just found out that Paypal has a debit card that ties directly to your account...

I'm not affiliated with Paypal or anything, I just think it's a nice feature!

That's all!

That's not weird or news. They've had that for a long time. You do need to get approved before they will send you one and I imagine that approval is based on credit rating.

It's not based on credit at all. I have one and it's very convenient. I use it all the time to withdraw money. The best part about it is that it gives you 1% cash back on all signature based purchases (i.e. when you don't enter a pin) which takes some of the sting out of the 2.9% they charge for the transaction fee when you get paid (it's only available for professional accounts -- personal accounts which only get payments from bank accounts or PayPal funds are not able to get the card).

I have one and love it. A lot of affiliate programs now will pay directly into PayPal and for a 3 bucks fee you can pull it out at the ATM.

Actually let me rephrase that...I HAD one until my wife found it LOL, she calls it her free money card..."so honey wait, I can pull $400 out every day on this thing and it doesn't affect our bank account and we don't have to pay it back???..."

sigh...was awesome while it lasted. haha

I wish I could get one, it would be so convenient for travel! Oh well, maybe when Paypal starts paying attention to Canada. :p

  • It amuses me that Paypal will let you put money into your account with a Green Dot card, but you they won't let take money out with it. Has to be the Paypal debit card to get the money out.
