The problem with e-gold is that you have to use a one-off broker to fund and withdraw from your account. I wouldn't want to bother with it.

There are other threads hear about PayPal alternatives. Most people seem to recommend AlertPay, but I've never used it myself.

i thought they took e-gold off the net. It's been many years since I've heard of them. Brings back memories. Stay Paypal!

AlertPay is the best second option. It is a trusted service, and I have used it before in the past with no problems. I have had money sent to my bank account with no issues. I would recommend their service if you can't use PayPal.

I wouldn't, no. It's quite extraordinarily inconvenient, compared with other ways to pay online. My guess is that very few will, and many will feel distinctly uncomfortable about buying from a business that can take only e-gold (or equivalent) payments.

AlertPay is a very good alternative to PayPal. Customers don't need to have, or to open, an account with them, to pay you that way. Same idea as PayPal but with better customer service, because they "try harder".

I do have a MoneyBookers account too, but, like many people, I've been exasperated more than once by their slow and unreliable customer service.

As a consumer? No. I would only trust Paypal.

To be honest, the only time i used e-gold was a few years ago when hyips / auto-surfs were a big fuzz.

Paypal have a few things i don't like but even tho, it's the only payment processor i trust.

I agree with JamesGW... consumers currently have Paypal engraved in their minds as a secure alternative.

If Paypal is not applicable in your side of the world, and you're trying to sell stuff online, then the best bet from my perspective is having your own shopping cart, gateway and processing service run off your business bank account.

    Hope this helps.
