Web Design for sales

Is there somewhere I can find some good templates or tips or something on how to make my web page optimized for selling my product (a downloadable program)?

I'm moving up a lot in SERPs and the traffic is coming in but the sales are far lower than what I would like. People that do purchase tend to like the product and continue their monthly purchase. I just think my web page design sucks or something when it comes to driving sales.

Anyway, suggestions please?

    I like to hire someone else to design the site.

    Having an eye for design is not one of those things easily learned IMO.

    But even offensive design can be on a site that sells well.

    Are you sure the copy is what it could be? Why have you concluded it is the web design that needs fixing? Have you sent people to your site to poll them on what they think when going there?

      It might not be the website. Some of the ugliest websites make alot of money. People only care about the information that is on it. You probably want to use a tracking tool to see where people spend most of their time when they come to your website and see if you can enhance those pages to include your offer. If you are getting alot of hits, and few sales, content might be the reason. Make sure you have information assessable that makes the customer feel comfortable to buy what it is you are offering and track where they go!

    Do you list all the features in terms of benefits to the user?

      Yeah, I'd like to do this but my budget is pretty darn small at the moment.

      The product is a automated program to help people with Farmville and other games. Everyone that I've talked to that has used it likes it.

      the site is Farmville and Frontierville bots and cheats if you want to look directly at it. This is the first site I've ever done that actually sells stuff so maybe I'm doing it very wrong.

      I have google analytics on the site. Is there anything else I should use? Is there a specific report I should be looking at?

      There is a video of it running and describing the features. That is in the forums (which are mostly there for providing support to users). Maybe I should make it more obvious?

    Hello,
    getting a lot of traffic is a great achievement and can be one of the hardest parts of internet marketing to crack. So well done, you are well on your way!

    I have not seen your website, but most visitors will only buy something after their third or fourth visit, so you need a way to bring them back.

    One of the best tried and tested methods is to use an autoresponder.
    If you offer something free (a free report on the website`s subject, that you could
    produce) this will not cost anything.

    Offer visitors the free report and let them know that you will send them regular articles that will be of interest to them in return for signing up.

    Then you can have a link to your website`s products, so that each time they receive an article from you, you stand a good chance that they will purchase from you.

    This method has worked for many people and your sales are likely to increase substantially if you use it.

    Also as Glopin2003 has mentioned, the wording of your site is going to make all the difference.

    If you have a good sales letter on you website, the sales from it can rocket.

    I know people that have used Yanik Silver`s Instant Sales Letter Templates have said how much their sales have increased once they started using them.

    If you have sales already and you could apply some of these techniques then I am sure your website can be even more profitable.

    i would highly recommend to use brighter colors. the ones that the prospect would associate with FarmVille.


    it would also be great if you can send your visitors to a Optin landing page first for a FREE downloadble report. ... if possible - make it mobile ready since a lot of users are not using mobile devices to play in Facebook.


    I'm glad that you are making sales.


    One thing might that would help your sales effort is a One Time Offer before the download page.


    Since you now have the email of your leads, you can send them an offer if they still don't buy... say a coupon code for 50% off with a time limit - say 4 days.


    That way you can keep in constant communication with them for the next 4 days, reminding them of the cool goodies they can get with your product, plus the 50% off.


    If possible, use mobile text marketing for the first 4 days, that way you have higher open and response rates.

    This is the first site I've ever done that actually sells stuff so maybe I'm doing it very wrong.
    Even that is a possibility...

    So, I am not into these games - but I can recognize a sales page! I can recognize a "buy Now" or "Add to Cart" button, i.e. a call to action. But I don't see any...

    Now, on your page first thing that catches my eyes is an animated banner trying to sell iContact. If I click on that, you can say goodbye to your sales: I am on another page already. BIG MISTAKE to put ads on your won salespage.

    Next, I see a big white (blank) portion... completely useless. (Oh, I am using G. Chrome).

    After that I see 3 columns. All telling me to download something... but not interesting enough - so I click something else. E.g. your About page.

    Now you explain some stuff that I could find on your site, you even give some URLs - but, holy crap! I cannot click on them. Do you really expect me to highlight/copy/paste those links to get to a page of interest???

    And for my old eyes the dark background with white/light fonts is a big No-No. Most people find it difficult to read, btw.

    Honestly, I don't believe in "designing" the sales pages: just give them the info.
