Posting Links In Google Places Listing - Please Help

Wonder if anyone can help?
I want to post a link to an external site from the 'More Details' area of a Google Places listing. I have seen other people do it but when I try to add the destination and anchor text using standard html:
<a href="http://mywebsite.com">anchor text</a>
I keep getting told that <,> characters are not allowed in the editing area.
Can anyone please help?
