I have no clue how to promote my website

Hi guys,

First of all I'd like to thanks the warrior forum because this forum is like a huge goldmine with tons of information about website and marketing.

I'm writing this post because I got a fresh new build website related to job searching mainly in US & Canada. What I like about the website is the fact that it combines several large job search portals based on the API.INDEED.

Now the website is running smoothly, the only part left is the promotion/SEO/marketing stuff and this is where I'm totally stuck and could use your precious advises.

I just checked the website: fiverr.com and looked for backlinks. But is this stuff reliable ? I mean, for 5$ some people promise stuff that would cost you at least 100$ or more. Did anyone of you already use fiverr for backlinks etc ? I'd love to have a feedback. I placed and order to get backlinks and if it doesn't work I will only lose 5$.. not a big deal but just wanted to know if someone else had already tried this website ?

Any other advise on my website would be awesome too.. I'm not sure if I can link my URL (looks like I need 15 post count to be able to link it )
www jobiguana com

So, what would be my first tasks ? Where should I promote my website ? I know it's already SEO optimized but still may need more work there too.. I'm kinda lost now

Cheers

First off, I would not consider that site optimized. Content, content, content. I would add content pages to this, plus a privacy page, legal page, contact page.

Just as an aside (I know this is completely unrelated to your question), I would also added autoresponder and create a small e-book on how to find jobs. You could probably add a paid product on the backend of that as well.

As to backlinks, yes there are some good things on fiverr, but there are also tons and tons of gigs like that that I would never touch with a 10 foot pole.

I would search around the Warrior Forum for SEO and pick up some tips. Look through the WSO's and find some items that might help you with that. John Rhodes just came out with one on backlinking that's excellent and I believe is still very inexpensive.

I wrote a book on SEO called "Get More Customers". You can find it on Amazon or at your major booksellers.

Just do some research, do lots of learning, and get up to speed so that you can do some of this yourself, at least initially. Even if this is not something you want to do yourself, by educating yourself on the proper techniques and doing it yourself at first, you will be better prepared to know what to look for if and when you ever hire someone to do this down the road.

I also highly recommend that. Quite apart form it's name, it is very peaceful. There is a very reasonable one-time fee for joining, and there are many many helpful things posted it can help you take your business to the next level. Definitely a must-do for any serious Internet marketer.

  • Hi,Here's what I would do.

Step one - write at least 5, but preferably 10 articles pertaining to your niche. Be sure your main keyword is in the title, and mentioned at least twice in the first couple of paragraphs while keeping it readable.

Step two - Set up accounts at social bookmarking sites such as Twitter, Digg, Reddit, Stumbleupon, De.licio.us, and friendfeed just to name a few off the top of my head.

Step three - Post your articles at the popular article directories. (Google 'most popular article directories). Be aware that some of them won't take an article if it's been published somewhere else - that's why I said preferably ten articles.

Step four - Set up a Squidoo lens

Step five - set up a Facebook page.

Step six - Set up a HubPages page.

Step seven - Research and write an effective press release and submit to news services.

Step eight - Create a video describing your content and what your blog is all about. Submit to the video sites.

Step nine - Find other blogs in your niche and apply to be a guest poster.

If you do all this, you will get traffic, and it'll be fairly quick.

    Good luck to you.

        Do you have capital?

When I started initially, I didn't have too much cash. I started doing guest posts on several popular blogs in my niches.

When you have the capital, remember it is only a question of "How Fast Can You Scale?" Media buys will then come into play.
