Help with Direction of Website

Hi Warriors

I am currently writing articles for a client of mine for this website:

Wedding Jewellery Accessories - Wedding Dresses and Lingerie - Hens and Bucks Parties - Wedding Reception Venues - Grooms Formal Wear - Wedding MC Accommodation - Marriage Entertainment Celebrants - Bridal Shoes - Menswear
It has a PR2 and gets about 1,500 visitors a month but no sales.

The original idea was to sell advertising space for wedding professionals but this just is not happening.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to monetize this site better to finally make some money with it.

I don't want to write articles for my client with out any focus as this would just be a waste of time and money.

He is open to any suggestions and is eager to get some feedback on how to improve this site.

I have written a Wedding Report which we could either use to build a list or to sell on the site.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

You can monetize your site in various ways. Through ppc advertising network: google adwords, chikita, balam ads,YPN, clicksor; cpm advertising networks: Advertising.com, Casale Media; or through affiliate marketing.

Thanks for all your suggestions. It is all very much appreciated.

I have tried google adwords, but Google has decided to Disable my account due to my account "posing a risk of generating invalid activity" ... so they say. To be quite honest, it hardly generated anything at all anyway.

And yes, the site may look a "bit messy" filled with "tons" of affiliate links, but I was hoping to generate some income at least that way, however, it doesn't seem to work.

I am currently working on a sign up page as suggested by some of you,
and am open to any suggestions. Any help will be more than welcome and much appreciated.

      Cheers.
      Regards, George

I hate to be negative but the website obviously needs a lot of work. The text spacing is messed up, for example.

How about a sign up page? Something like "sign up for our free weekly newsletter with tips and discounts for your wedding" then you can sell stuff through email. Like, the first email can be "sexy lingerie for your wedding night" the next is "canberra wedding cakes - 20% discount on custom orders (you would need to organize this offline with someone who bakes wedding cakes locally)" the third could be "vintage wedding veils", and so on...

I know he is working on a sign up page at the moment. Tried adsense with no results as well.

It was initially built to be an advertising directory, so it could be possible to try and connect to local businesses who offer discounts etc. So thanks Lyanna for this suggestion.

Will pass on your comments and see what he thinks.

I don't think you should give up on the advertising. Once the site gets cleaned up and you start getting more visitors you should be able to collect leads through an opt in list and attract advertisers.

I think that you should work on a sign up page/box..
Write up your own little work out tips/meal plan tips/diet suggestions, or hit fiverr - my girlfriend has a gig lol

give the work out for $7!
make a page on your site that is light selling your ebook that you work up. then ask for email addresses and post an email grabber for some free tips or something that relate to your ebook.

in theory its the best of all worlds.

ehhhh I dont think it looks THAT bad. The line between spam and tons of monetization has grown cloudy with the expansion of the web.. its pretty to mistake a heavily optimized blog as a slightly outdated site
