any way to tell what cms a site runs on?

I know most sites that run on a cms have a link to the type of cms they run on. The one I want info on does not ( blurty dot com )

Any way to find out?
#cms #runs #site

Right click > show page source
Then in the code you will probably find a referral to some CMS.
In blurty.com's case, if you take a look at the page extension (.bml) you will find that it is written in Bean Markup Language. Seems like a custom job to me.

So yeah, I think it is either an unknown CMS or a custom job.

    Regards,
    Mark

I like it too, just wish I could find a WHOLE lot more of them. I've been on three of the blurty dot come type sites today and all dofollow.

Just hoping to find a searchable string to discover more

Type /wp-admin after the URL to see if it's wordpress.

It is definitely not Wordpress or Joomla.

seems to be a new CMS, it could be a custom job but I have been on three of them today, same style. Its just a simple journal site. Now I guess it could be that the three diff sites I was on were the same company ( custom job ) on three diff domains.

But it has a CMS feel to it. But nothing in the footer or source.

Anyway, seems to be a new CMS / system that is dofollow

Contact the site, tell them how impressed you are with it, and ask what it is. Sometimes, flattery will get you everywhere. If the first site doesn't respond, ask the 2nd.

BTW, if you do find out what it is, please let us know. I would be very interested in hearing.

I did a search of update.bml and found the three sites: blurty dot com , insanejournal dot com and livejournal dot com

All three dofollow and high PR

                    Looking for more now

    View Source of the page.

If you see anything such as WP-INCLUDE, then you know it's obviously WordPress...

    According to this page
    Google Directory - Arts*>*Online*Writing*>*Journals*>*Resource s*>*Hosts

It's based on livejournal source code which you can find out more about here

I can tell you it's based in part on LiveJournal.
    reference source

But it looks like someone built a CMS on top of it to add more functionality to me.

But there's not anything in the view source that gave me much more to go on about what the CMS is.

DOH!!! While I was verifying, Gail beat me to the post by several minutes.
