One-and-done type site, advice would be great.

Morning warriors

I currently have a product I'm working with in which I would like to build a small site for, promote the site for a bit, and then completely move on from this site and niche and then just accumulate what passive income I get from this site.

I have zero desire to do blog posts in this niche, run a complementary forum for the site, or manage an email list in this niche. All I really want is the landing page and income from sales of the product.

The domain is an exact match to the keywords i'm targetting and the competition is very very low with around 1400 searches a month. I imagine once the site is up and it is indexed I should have zero trouble taking the #1 spot.

It's my understanding that google tends to frown upon such simple sites but I'd like to continue to keep the #1 spot with minimal effort (site content automation maybe?).

Anyone have any ideas on ways I could achieve this? Example sites doing something similar would be great for ideas also.

Thanks in advance.

Here's one for you. I purchased an emd and within 2 days I was #1. This was a very low competition keyword. Obviously since the .com was available for me. I did not keyword research of any kind other than just seeing what I could find by using Google Suggest.

Today, almost 1 year later, I've not touched the site and I rank #2 just below Amazon.

This is an xfactor style adsense site with only 5 pages of content.

The point is if the competition is really that low, you probably won't have to do much once you get it ranked high.

I'm with you on this, and I can tell you from experience that it works just fine. You don't need a constantly updated, large authority site to keep your rank. In fact I've got sites with ONE page with ~300 words ranking steadily at #1 for money terms. For such small keywords I wouldn't bother with a full-fledged site.

Here's a tip for you.. if the niche turns out to be profitable, and you're ranking with your tiny site. Make another targeting the same keyword, or use Squidoo/Hubpages etc. That keeps you a bit safer in case your original site takes a dive.

I have several sites that I setup and forgot. Every now and then when i remember them, I check the analytics and find the unique visitors expanding. I am not ranked in the top, but my keyword strategy allows me to be found in lots of long tail keywords. In your case of very low competition, and if you follow my strategy, you might rank no 1.

I can't place the resources links here because I am quite new to this forum, so if you'd like to know my resources, send me a private message and I'll be happy to tell you.

    All the best
