Stop Using Marketing Jargon

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post to WF and I have been actively watching this forum for a while.

I am a noob email marketer, been in the business since Nov 10 and I must say I have looked at thousands of launches of many products and I am the first to admit I get sucked in...

Why?

Marketing lingo, words like Ninja, laser targeted, avalanche and one click annoy me no end.

Please guys, use normal language and allow us noobs to make decisions on facts and not hyperbole.

I have bought so many products that all pretty much do the same thing, please get some honesty into the bizz

Lets lose the words.

... and I'm not sure how you consider yourself a "specialist" when even you consider yourself a "noob". And how many of "you" are there?

Never ceases to amaze me. Never! To the OP good luck being taken seriously. I'm not sure if you are aware but you are making a post about being a beginner, yet your sig line promotes that you are a Specialist.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

You will soon get the hang of it like all newbies. One thing for sure there is no secret push button out there, only sheer hard work and learn all you can, then start to outsource as soon as possible.

Neither ninja or avalanche are marketing lingo. They are sales copy.

CRM, integrated marketing, a/b testing, sales funnel, landing page, boston consulting group matrix. These are lingo. You should learn them, not ask people to not use marketing terms on a marketing forum.

One lesson you should learn as a noob is people do things for a reason, especially the big boys. Do not think they use those words lightly. They have likely been tested, retested and tested again. It actually constantly amazes me that what I think would not work does and what I thought would work did not.

Those words or "lingo" have apparently been researched by a marketing company and found that it yields the best results. Which is the reason why so many people are using them in their sales copy.

The reason they use words like that is because it's a no-brainer.

Hype sells. Especially in the fast buck IM niche where customers are looking for cash sucking dirty little Ninja secrets they can put on autopilot, sit back and legally steal massive amounts of cash with little or no effort. Hey, there's a really good headline for the next big thing.

    Morpheyous,

There are a few points of advice that all successful Internet Marketers have shared with the Warrior Forum. These bits of advice have been suggested over and over. They are...

    1) Take Action - If you don't do anything, you won't make anything. Pretty simple.

    2) Don't Reinvent The Wheel - Why spend years trying to build a new system, when there are already proven methods that work?

This last one isn't really talked about (that I know of). But, it is right in front of you. You just have to pay attention to details.

    3) Learn From Others - If another Marketer is promoting an item, and you have the urge to buy it... Go through their sales copy and find what intrigued you the most. Choose a few different things that get you excited about the product. Then go find a way to promote that product (or one similar to it) and use similar tactics for your advertisements.

Going to a Marketing forum and asking them not to use marketing lingo is like going to an AMA (American Medical Association) seminar and asking that they not use medical terms.
