Hey guys,

Quick question - Is there any point in submitting RSS feeds if you're not adding content to the site after you've submitted it?

It might help your site get crawled and indexed. You might as well.

Well, the site's been up for a while now, so it's not really a matter of getting indexed but getting links.

But if I'm not adding new content after I submit my RSS feeds, are there no link-building benefits?

It would be best if you have regular updates/posts to your site but IMHO even if you don't your RSS is still in the queue of the RSS aggregators and if someone just happened to load for something that your site is listed under you can still have a new visitor from your RSS.

Never ping or submit an empty site for crawling or try and index one that won't be updated daily. Once you do that you start a history or track record of inactivity that you cannot erase. That's NOT good.

Your history is your future according to the search engines. You will have to start all over again to change your history from TODAY and it takes longer to wipe out the past than if you start right the first time.

I retired in 2005 at 43 and now I give away websites like these for FREE [hosting excluded]

When you make at least $100+ per month, we split the profit 80/20 and YOU get the 80% Until then, you keep 100% and I'll help you drive traffic, get backlinks and put the domain in your name too!

If you already have something in the RSS feed then it is fine to do as the most recent posts will be delivered to the place which gets your RSS feed. But since you won't be adding new content they will never be pinged again.
