What do you think of GAWKY.ORG?

Hey guys,

I recently got the domain gawky.org - it's a 5-letter dictionary word. I'm not sure what to do with it. Any ideas?

    My quick suggestions include:-

    (i) Catch the typo traffic for the much-better-known gorky.org (also for sale, as it happens);
    (ii) Change your name to something like Gary Awky and use it as a personal home-page;
    (iii) Put it in an auction at Sedo, Flipper and/or wherever such things change hands;
    (iv) Found a new art movement - the "gawky school" and use it as the website;
    (v) Come to an arrangement with George Cruz Smith or his publishers to create a phonetically spelled derivative of his bestseller "Gorky Park" and sell advertising space on the domain (not quite sure to whom, though);
    (vi) Build a site promoting clothes/fashion/flat shoes for tall, skinny chicks.

    Wow! That's a word I haven't heard in many years. Let's start with the definition:

    gawk·y     /ˈgôkē/ Adjective: Having or showing an inability to move in a graceful manner; Nervously awkward and ungainly: "a gawky teenager".

    Nope. That's no help whatsoever. I don't have a clue. :confused:

    Alexa's last suggestion sounds like a good possibility even though it doesn't really fit into the strict definition.

    Or maybe a 'Hot or Not'-type site where people vote for the 'gawkiest' person, like this guy for instance:

    Why in the world did you buy the domain if you didn't know how you would use it?

      Try creating a "Gawky" cartoon and sell the idea of putting the cartoon with funny sayings on it to a t shirt manufacturer or novelty outfit. Be sure to copywrite it first.

      If you can create a little buzz on a website with your character and upload some videos to Youtube, set up a "Gawky" Facebook page. Once you create the buzz, the products would be easy to outsource. Just a thought.

    These are all great ideas!

    My favorite is ajwilliams' .. considering I'm surrounded with artists. Maybe I can sit down with them and play around with your suggestion.
