Fulfilment companies? Outline of the Funnel procedure? from Sale -> Shipment? (some questions..)

Want to get some Physical products out this year,

I know different fulfilment companies work in a different way
{kunaki, Vervante, cddvdfulfillment}

1) What is the basic funnel system procedure, from the moment a customer purchases -> it getting shipped to their house ?

When a customer purcahses from your sales page, Via Paypal, I get their email + name.

2) Then do I have to set up these details to go to the fulfilment company, automatically?

3) How is this done automatically? (the info passed on)?

4) What things do you have to pay the fullfilment company? Is it just the the price of Producing + Shipping the material?

5) But doesn't this cause a Backlog? if you say get 20 orders in 1 day, of $300 items..... that is $6000 Into your paypal account.

6) When do the fulfullment company want their 'share' of this money ? (shipping + production costs)

7) Does RAP make this procedure easier? with their Automatic methods/procedures?

    Yes. With the Kunaki Add On for RAP, the purchase/shipping info is sent to Kunaki automatically, for each purchase of a RAP-enabled product that you have set up with the add on.

    It really depends on the payment processor and shipping company you use. A service like Vervante and Kunaki can be automated.

    Once again, it depends which services you are using. If you use a service like Vervante you can set things up to work automatically. A new order comes in, you can then have your shopping cart send the order confirmation email to Vervante, they will then process and ship the order.

    For a company like Vervante it is done by email. I believe for companies like Kunaki you can use a feed to provide them with the order information automatically.

    You will have to pay for everything. The production of the product, the packaging, and the cost of shipping to the customer.

    I'm not sure what you mean by the backlog. I am assuming you were alluding to your next question...

    This is dependent on the company you choose. A company like Kunaki will need you to pay for each order with them before it will be processed. This is what can create a shortage of funds as you mentioned above.

    A company like Vervante however will offer you net 30 billing. This means they will only invoice for your orders every 30 days.

    If you'd like more specific reviews of the various companies available then you may want to have a read of this thread:

      Cheers Will and Sid.

      Can you give some Approx values of
      -production
      -packaging
      -shipping

      of a 10 Audio CDRom set, which I was looking to price at $400. (sales page price)

      $400 = Product sales page price
      $??? = production price =
      $ ?? - Please give a vauge value,
      $??? = packaging = $ ?? - Please give a vauge value,
      $??? = shipping = $ ?? - Please give a vauge value,

      so from that $400, how much of it am I putting back into the fulfilment company, so that i have
      $XYZ Profit?

      where $XYZ Profit =

      $400 - $Production - $packaging - $shipping = $XYZ Profit,

      {then again shipping they pay, right? like ebay}

      Please can you do some vauge sums, so i get the feel.....
      10 CD rom course, No Paperwork.

      I know..... this question depends on many factors, length of CD rom audios, packaging style, etc,,,, but i am just after a 'feel' for the pricing....... rough approximates please..

            CD disc / Jewel Case - 1.60 - 10 - 16.00

            Sub Total

            16.00

            NY State Sales Tax

            $0.00

            Shipping with USPS Media Mail
            $9.20

            Total

            $25.20

            so from my $400, $25.2 will be the cost that kunaki takes.

            (Shipping, production, packaging)

            so I make $375, right ?

              If that's what they charge then yes, the rest is your profit. But Kunaki only offer you single CD/DVD Rom cases. Other companies such as Vervante have multiple DVD/CD cases that can store up to 3-4 CD/DVDs so this helps to reduce the weight and size of the parcel and thus the shipping and packaging costs.

              If you need prices then the best people to contact are the companies themselves. Prices seem to change fairly frequently so it's best to talk with them directly.
