Amazon S3 Expiring Links - How?

Sorry for all of the video questions lately, and thanks for all of the
replies (this is a great forum).

My new question involves how to set up each of my videos with
the "expiring links" function I keep reading about.

Can anyone help?

I do have Easy Video Player if that has anything to do with it.

  • What is it you're trying to accomplish?

    Do you want someone (like a subscriber) to have access to a video for a specific amount of time - then deny access or have the link vanish? (yet still allow others to continue to see it?)

    Or do you want a link to disappear or just go dead to everyone?

      All videos are going to be posted to my forum (private paid members
      only) inside the posts.

      I want those videos to always be active for the forum members.

      I read that easy video player and Amazon S3 can utilize the expiring links
      so that "if someone shares the video somewhere else then the links can
      expire and they will not be able to view it afterwards."

  • EZS3 also lets you do this too.

    You can specify the specific domain for the player to work on (or any domain).

    This way people (generally) can't copy the video.

      In the morning I'll try to understand the "lock" feature in
      EVP and come back here for more help if need be.

  • So Jeff, it's basically as simple as clicking on the Security tab inside
    easy video player, and choosing both of the following options
    to "YES":

    * Use Rotating links.

    * Enable Site Restriction

    Then I'm as good as I can get, correct?

    • This doesn't stop people from downloading the video file. I can still look at the page activity, download the video file, and then post it somewhere for other people to download.
