What's the secret to formatting WSOs - I got probs.

Am I the only one, or do other Warriors have problems with formatting in their WSOs?

I just spent about an hour trying to make my WSO format properly. At first, I copied/pasted from Word, which I know can cause problems. So I copied/pasted from Notebook instead, but it still gives me problems.

What's the secret?

Well, here's the problem.

1) It adds extra lines between my paragraphs
2) It centers or uncenters things I center or don't center
3) The format errors get worse the more I correct them

When I go back in to correct the extra spaces and save, it adds MORE spaces and shifts the centering - even on parts that were not centered or near other centered text.

Any suggestions for getting your content onto the page without having to fiddle with formatting?

Thanks.

Sylvia

Are you using the advanced editor?

You can change which one you default to by going into your profile > select 'Edit Options' and it's right down at the bottom.

    Might help.

Thanks Tim, but yes. I was in the advanced area.

I also just noticed that Alan has provided a link to a support forum to ask such questions. Sorry guys... I didn't notice that before.

Going there now, but I'll check back here to see if anyone has a solution.

I have the same problems. Extra lines are added, things center and uncenter, along with other format changes. This happens every time I edit and submit. It's very frustrating!

This happens on all my computers. The formatting will change even after I corrected other things!

I'm glad you started this thread. I was just dealing with it.

down the bottom of every page - bottom left hand side, is a box that says "posting rules" in there you'll find some relevant links for formatting, including...

    [IMG] code is On -
WarriorForum - Internet Marketing Forums - BB Code List

click on that and it shows you all the codes you can use on here.

I start by typing up my wso in word - i format it how i like it then copy&paste into the advanced editor.

Now if you open the WF & Word side by side you can see how you want it.

Just work through slowly doing one line at a time.

I copy & paste the codes if i'm using it in more than one place - dont forget to close your codes using the /

the brackets to use are the square looking ones on the right of your "p" button - lower case please.

Each time you change something - hit "PREVIEW" Do this long before you hit "POST"

    hope this helps

I always format mine in the Test forum first.

Then you can copy and paste with no problems.

      Hope this helps.

Thank you, NewbiesDiary. I appreciate your suggestions - however, none of those are relevant for me.

        1) I don't use any special code.
        2) I do use the advanced editor
        3) I copy/paste from Notepad (sorry I said Notebook before). That removes all code that might have been created in Word. Then, I format as I want using the Advanced Editor formatting buttons.

Everything looks fine in there, until I review or post, and that's when the errors start popping up.

On first view, there might only be one or two areas where there are extra spaces. So I go back into the Advanced Editor to correct them and on the next view, other errors appear. The more I edit, the more errors. I've gone through every single line of my post, backed them up to the previous sentence and re-hit enter to form the paragraph - figuring this would get rid of any coding that has been input. Alas, the final view still has errors. You can fix and modify forever and never get rid of the extra spaces and changed centering - the two issues that keep coming up.

That's an idea, ShayRockhold. I might try that next time. Still, it kind of makes the whole WSO posting a pain in the butt... don't you think?

I put a query in to Admin a few days back but haven't heard anything yet. Maybe they're looking into it before replying.

Anyway, it sure would be great if they could fix it. I notice it doesn't happen in the forum threads. So what's the difference between here and there?
