Is Site Point the way to go if I want to sell a couple of new web sites?

Either SitePoint or Ebay, I personally have had more success on Ebay.

You might want to wait til after Xmas too, sales are a bit slow at the moment

Besides those SitePoint and Ebay, you can also post your site on Digital Point. It's free to place a sale there, but you have to watch the forum carefully and keep re-posting as your thread quickly moves to the next page. Each thread you make, you'll want to edit the letter a bit so you don't get accused of spamming.

You might also want to try to sell your site on Ebay's international sites, where there's less competition.

I personally have never flipped a site but have been thinking about doing it so I can show some of my students how's it done.

I was surprised that some of you said eBay, because I would have thought most eBayers wouldn't see the value of a pre-made site.

I've looked at SitePoint, and the WSO forum to see what sites sell and for how much.

For those who have done it on eBay would you mind sharing the winning bids you got? I don't want to misinform any of my students and discourage from selling on eBay.

I have sold sites on Ebay anywhere from $22 up to over $700 - it depends on the site, it depends on who is looking at the time and I guess it depends on your sales letter and how good your sites are.

It is very competitive on Ebay though - but it can be done!

If you're trying to sell new site I would recommend
digitalpoint forum. Take a look at other auctions
similar to yours copy them not exactly but how they
have set up their description.

Easy money to be made at DP but they are cheap skate
buyers looking for good deals.
