Another Warrior seeks help [Newbie alert]

Hi all. My name is Daniel Sørensen aka Digital D and this is my first post here.
First of all, please have me excused if/when my english is not 100%. I'm from Norway and english is not our first language.

But enough about that, let's get straight to the point.

I have been searching (like many other people) after a legit and legal way to earn money on the internet without having to spend lots of money or time to make this happen. And by that I don't mean I expect some magic get-rich-quick scheme turn everything around, far from it.

What I'm talking about here is something that I can earn extra money on and keep my job steady job and have time to spend with my soon-to-be wife (not to mention having time for future kids)

I'm not looking for something that gives me $1000 a day (even though it would be sweet ), but something that is realistic, maybe $50-$100 a day (not in the beginning obviously) Problem is, I don't know who to trust anymore to make this possible. The internet is JAM PACKED with disinformation, lies and scams so it seems it's really hard for a newbie like me to actually learn and earn money on the net unless I would be a creep and scam people myself, which is not what I'm about.
I've already tried out Maverick Money Makers Club and that just ended up in somewhat of a loss. Lots of money spent on ads, not a single dollar came back. I was also a member of WGI (worldgamesinc) way back and that was also just a huge pyramide scam where family and friends got all fooled by gurus who decieved them all with the dream of economic freedom. This probably all sounds familiar to alot of newbs and veterans in here huh ? Oh, I almost forgot about HomeWebsiteCenter.com that also resulted in nothing but loss.

After taking nothing but losses I kinda gave up on earning money on the net. But here I am today and I'm glad that I stumbled upon this site. After reading some of the stories here I'm convinced that I can learn from peoples experiences in this field.

So, where would I start ? I mean, I've read everywhere that the key to money is getting traffic to a site. As of today I don't have a site, don't know what the site should be about and so on. But I do know Im hoping there is a way that I could earn money on promoting products or something similar through ads on the net.

I've read about programs that gives you traffic to your site, are those programs for real or is it all scams ?

I'm not a newbie when it comes to using a computer, but when it comes to Internet marketing I could really use the support of others or else I will fail like 98% of the other people who share the same dream.

Sorry for a long (first) post, but like mentioned earlier I will appreciate all help/tips/strategies/support so I eventually in the future can achieve $50-$100 income a day. Gonna need that money when we get that kid some day

Peace out.

If you want to really introduce yourself, then you wouldn't call yourself Digital D. My name is Kai Lo, and that is my real name.

There's a lot of free information on this forum that you do not need to pay to read.

    Hi Daniel! Welcome!
Ok, listen there is so information in this forum, it probably feels like your head is going to explode when you look at it. So my best advice is to read as much as you can and really absorb and learn about the different methods that are working for Warriors. Don't get sucked in by the WSO section yet, that will definitely be a buzzkill lol Once you've spent a few days reading, then pick one method and put it into action. That is the biggest and best thing you can do for yourself. Seriously, it's the difference between making money and well, not making money. Ask questions, as many as you can! And don't forget it takes time to see results, so stick it out. Hope that helps you some

Yeah, tell me about it. I'm not trying to cut corners here but it's exactly like you said, it feels like my head is about to explode with information. So much material and little clue where to start. I'm reading in the Rags2Ritches thread by Kenster right now. But I believe this is WSO which you told me not to look into at the moment.

Hi Daniel. Fundamentally, you need to choose a profitable industry with a sub industry where a lot of people search for solutions in the form of info, advice, tips, strategies, techniques, products and services on the Internet. This sub industry should also be one where those people prefer to search for those solutions online and are also expected to buy those solutions online. With this comes these four task sets:

      I. Market Research = Get updated and accurate data in the form of analytical reports and published commentaries from global corporations reputable for providing such data. These global corporations have in their payroll expert business analysts, economists, socio-politico commentators, cultural consumer market psychologists, field researchers and journalists. They publish such data along with their analytical commentaries for everyone to see... Once you identified a profitable industry and a sub industry that qualifies with what I mentioned above, move on to the tasks below...

II. Online Consumer Market and Keyword Research = You can Google relevant keywords most likely Googled by your target online consumer market. Identify top ranking results that are social networks and online communities, like blog networks, Web forums and other websites. Go to those social networks and online communities. Observe the most talked about topics and sub topics. Take note of the post titles and tags of those pages and discussion threads. List down usual questions often left unanswered with an excellent solution. List down the most immediate needs and the most urgent problems of your target online consumer market that are relevant to the topics and sub topics covered by your chosen sub industry. Use this data on the Google Keyword Tool. Get exact match searches. Those would be your target keywords. Take note of those social networks and online communities, especially ones with large membership bases...

III. Business and Product Development = Analyze your target keywords. What are the exact expectations of people when they Google those keywords? Are they on the verge of buying beneficial solutions online when they see it? Are they looking for user reviews of those solutions to make an informed decision? What benefits can a solution provide them that are not found in other similar solutions? Can you find the most beneficial affiliate solution most of them would surely buy? Otherwise: Can you develop such a solution with unique benefits as mentioned earlier? Are those most beneficial solutions from corporations that have brand and model names with household popularity? If those corporations aren't offering affiliate programs: It's most likely they have ads with Google Adwords and other programs, so CPC and CPA should be considered...

IV. Website, Onsite and Offsite Content Development and Marketing Campaign Planning and Implementation = Register a good and catchy domain name for your website. Sign up for a hosting account with Hostgator or others. Go to your CPanel and create a Wordpress instance using Fantastico. Search for an excellent Wordpress theme that will appeal to your target online consumer market in terms of overall visual look and feel and navigability convenience. Find plugins that would be helpful, such as one where each of your posts and pages can be configured to have the most widely used social bookmarking and sharing buttons. Hire a graphics designer with visual communications expertise for your intended online consumer audience. Ask this professional to develop what your website needs in terms of visual aesthetics: From your logo and banner to other images needed for your website. Set up a mailing list signup box with a mailing list admin management panel. Hire content developers for your onsite content. Consider developing freely downloadable content offering benefits not found on your onsite content pages. Offer this as a free download after your target online consumer market signs up to your mailing list. Hire an excellent copywriter with expertise suitable for your target online consumer market. Ask this professional to develop the content of your sales pages or affiliate product/service reviews. Use the list of social networks and online communities where your target online consumer markets frequently spends time in because they expect to find beneficial solutions to their relevant needs and problems, talk to others with the same needs and problems in those social networks and online communities, as well as talk to experts who can help them with their needs and problems. Contribute beneficial content there...

Offsite content contributions = Excellent previews to more benefits offered by your onsite content that are not found in your offsite content ==>> Onsite content = Excelent previews to more benefits offered by your freely downloadable mailing list signup content and your products/services or affiliate products/services that are not found in your onsite content ==>> Freely downloadable mailing list signup content and newsletters or email updates = Excellent previews to more benefits offered by your products/services or affiliate products/services that are not found in your freely downloadable mailing list signup content, newsletters and email updates = Profits

WSO's are like crack on here, I know it lol If you feel like it will help you, then by all means buy the course. The problem with WSO's is that you buy one read it, go oh that's great and then wonder if there is something better out there. I find it's easier to digest the pared down informational posts when you first start out so you don't get distracted by the bright shiny things.

First, congrats on your engagement! And welcome to WF, as well.

It sounds like you have a pretty good assessment of the whole make-money-online world - yes, there are tons and tons of scams, but that doesn't mean there aren't legitimate opportunities. It just takes time to find them sometimes.

Stay away from anything or anyone that promises easy or guaranteed money in a certain amount of time. You are already aware that scammers prey on people looking for those things, so that's a good start.

It does take time. Not much money, necessarily, but a fair amount of time. Some people reach $50-$100 a day within a few months, but most take longer. Actually, most fail altogether, as you already mentioned. But not because Internet marketing doesn't work - it's because THEY don't work. You do have to work hard. But it's definitely something you can do while you keep your regular job. That's how I learned.

I agree with the "not to worry about the WSO section yet". There are so many good products for sale that you could end up buying loads (just like i did when I first started) and then not knowing which one to choose first.
Ask lots of questions everybody on here is very helpful and when you have decided which path to take then purchase a WSO related to what you have chosen to do.

      Hope this helps

        Welcome inside WF Daniel.

I completly understand what you mean by "it's not my first language". It's not my first too and I can do pretty well on the Internet .

When you start to buy Internet Marketing course, you see all this things like a bunch of techniques that will make you money. I know because I went through all that things. However, you should first make sure you treat what you will build as a real business first.

On the Internet, you don't build a website, you build a business and you need a solid foundation.

Think how you would build your business if it was offline. The only difference would be you sell it through the Internet. Their is no other difference.

Keep the ball rolling, stick with your ideas, test them and tweak them. It's how every business work

The biggest mistake newbies make is trying to make money online...as if that is a goal or something.

What you need to do is start a business and then use the internet to market/deliver/interact and so on. Once you start a business then things will start to make sense and you will soon realize that the internet really is only a tool and not a destination.

For example look at the so called "offline" craze!! What the heck is that?? It's basically saying..."hey guys, guess what?? You can make money offline too!!!"

Well guess what?? People have been making money offline for thousands of years!!

So if you are going to start a business converting CPA offers then do that. Then decide if you want to try PPC, youtube, flyers on windshields, blimps or tattoos on your forehead to make money...it really doesn't matter what you try as long as you test it and if it works great and if not then you try something else...but you are still in the CPA business.

Most newbies will try CPA and then say it doesn't work and then try to do affiliate marketing and then say it doesn't work and then try to be an offline SEO consultant but that doesn't work either!!

That is some of the best advice you will get here. It's about creating a business. The internet is just a medium that gives you some unique advantages over other traditional media.

But royljestr nailed it. Build a business. Otherwise you will fall for any shiny object. Do you think Michael Dell decided that he would tinker with some of these computers and see what happens? Or did he systematically create a metric-driven juggernaut that dominated a niche.

        Hey There, Digital D

Firstly, internet marketing is more of a mindset than anything else, get your mindset right and the money will come.

Secondly, you need to take action. 98% of people fail for exactly this reason.

And Thirdly, find a program that will teach you everything you need to know and STICK WITH IT. Do all these three things and you will find success, cheers

      Hi Daniel,

Sorry but I can't resist here - my first book, Internet Riches, is written exactly for guys like you. It's been a best-seller in several languages and is available at Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk where they could ship to you in Norway.

It's written in plain English (not too techie) and would provide you a lot of the business and strategy education it sounds like you skipped over.

It sounds like the $12 paperback edition would end up saving you hundreds or more in avoiding future scams. Check out the 100+ reviews on Amazon.com for more details.

Hope that's helpful and good luck!

I feel your pain Daniel! Like yourself, I have been overwhelmed with the amount of information and claims relating to affiliate marketing. I have been scammed so many times and lost a significant amount of money during this whole process. I am also a newbie and joined this site as a last resort in finding legitimate information. I am not afraid of putting effort into a business as long as I know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am not familiar with many of the "terms" associated with this industry but continue to pick up something daily. Like you, I could benefit from some additional revenue at the end of the month to pay off some bills. Please feel free to PM me and perhaps we can learn from one another. Let's keep on chugging!

like others have said before, you are at the right place there is tons of info here i joined last week and i have learned a lot since....

the cheapest way to make money online that actually works is by writing articles.
create a blog and start write 2-3 articles per-day or when ever you can. this method usually don't pays off at first but a couple months down the line you will be glad you did however if you wishes not to start a blog you can always write articles and post them to popular article networks such as hubpages, articletube, ezines, squidoo etct etc...

don't follow the road i took when i started which was ppc & ppv campaigns....its costly and not good for an beginner.

I too joined recently--after almost buying a guru training course. Don't get me wrong, I am sure some of them have great information, but this site is more "real." Real marketers, not just the super-hype folks selling all kinds of course that are mysteriously all $27, $37, or $47. Good luck--I am actually in the same boat as you.

Its is called WSO you can get them from here or you will see the sub forum when log in

      Daniel

My advice is before you part with any money do your research on the person who is offering to help you , there are and will allway's be people who will rip you off because you are a newbie

Now I am not saying all but some and they troll the WF looking for the opp to get you to buy or sign up, best advice you would from any person who has been here for awhile is the join the war room there you will find Info that will help you and nothing to pay for only the cost of joining the war room.(War Room cost $37USD for 20 yrs)

The other would be to go to the WSO section and look for coaching look for the name Tristan Bull or Paul Barrs they both talk the talk and walk the walk.

BTW Welcome to the Warrior Forum

      Jason

I would stick to big reputable companies. For example ad sense from Google and the affiliates program in amazon. Those are proven winners.

Sadly, I have a lot of horror stories working with small companies. Most of them want to take your money an run.

Hi DD, you are not alone.
You need to take into consideration a number of factors:
How much can you afford to invest?
Are you prepared to learn, and overcome set backs?
How quickly do you want to progress?
Are you prepared to work, and work hard?

One of my blogs is written to find the most economical ways to start and build an online income busienss. I always explain that you CAN start online with no funds (including a post), BUT it will slow you down because it restricts your choices.
Spending carefully is the answer. As others have said above, visit the WF and if you're in a buying products position, join the War Room, and check 'true' review sites, such as IM Report Card. You can save a lot of money, time wasting and grief by a biy of detective work. I have a new product/review site myself, which is very selective, but it's so new that there isn't much to see - yet.
If your finances allow, set up a process to start building traffic and list building. (Yes, I have a post for that too). Without visitors you'll have no customers, hence no list, no marketing, no sales, no money.
But you do have to work for it.

Now where did I put that pencil?

    Time for a cuppa.

The internet is JAM PACKED with disinformation, lies and scams so it seems it's really hard for a newbie like me to actually learn and earn money on the net unless I would be a creep and scam people myself,
Well that is a good start that you know there are tonnes of scammers, spammers, shammers around who promise get rich schemes for a fee
Carefully research and read useful tips here which are usually free. Also stay away from anything that is too good to be true

First of all, I want to thank everyone in this thread for every contribution given here

When it comes to the my business plan I've been thinking alot since I joined this forum. After reading what you guys wrote I knew I had to find something and stick to it. So, I know I don't want to to offline gigs, already doing that with my fulltime job. I also know that I don't want to sell any physical products of any sort. So I'm thinking about blogging about anything related to the videogame industry, which is one big moneymaker in the entertainment business. That way I get to do something fun that I will enjoy while working hard to achieve what most people want/need, earning some money on it. I'm thinking that I could write my own reviews/articles on games/equipment etc and somehow getting income through ads on the blog since I would be targeting a crowd with the age range from 10-50+. This is just a rough idea I need to shape, but any thoughts and tips on what WSO that would fit into this business model ? I have not shaped and finalized my vision 100% yet, but it's a start. And I got some more ideas, but that will have to wait so I don't get sidetracked on my main objective here.

I know it takes time to build a business (online and offline), especially if I'm gonna run it at low cost in the beginning. But I'm willing to stick it out and work hard, as long as I don't have to invest $1000+ in something that will end up as another failure with financial loss as a result. And a grumpy lady in the house, lol

The WSO section is tricky to navigate, there are a fair share of duds in there that I wouldn't recommend. If you really want some good material invest in the War Room membership, there is so much good stuff in there, that you are sure to find something that will help your business model.
