Hello

If producing ebooks in areas other than IM, is it a long-term thing before you build up a web-presence enough to sell anything?

Do you think LULU is good for newbies, as well as using your own website?

Is it possible to get the book taken on by Amazon - how difficult is this? (Especially if they also contain embedded video and audio.)

Your ebook comments are welcomed.

You can produce ebooks in anything. You just have to be an expert in whatever field you are working on. Build up your web-presence with lots of videos to help people for free. Pitch them with lots of free stuff until you hit them with a paid product/service.

Try listing your products on the Payloadz storefront and Tradebit. Those sites offer an instant customer base.

Amazon does the Kindle thing which takes a bit to get formatted correctly. Search Tradebit for Kindle to find cheap ecourses
    tradebit.com/filesharing.php/search/0/kindle

Also start building your own website and building traffic.

Are you selling fitness products? If so and I'll send you a couple of links to sites I have developed.

    Hi Mate,

Your post seems a little scattered.

Before you proceed any further do
    these things.

    1. Find a hungry Niche.
    2. Find out where they hangout.
    3. Find out what they want.
    4. What format would they like it in.
    5. Sell it to them.

You need to do this as a bare minimum
before you can even decide what format
    to sell to them in.

And to answer your question about how to
    get a book onto amazon.

Fellow warrior has a great manual on how
    to do that.

    Take Care,

    Yes, of course.

You need to find a hungry market, one with their wallets open
and ready to make a purchase. If you plan on going into a market
that has been continuously taken advantage of, then you are in for
    a surprise.

I'm selling digital products (including e-books) totally outside of the IM niche. I started making sales right out of the gate. At that time I hadn't even set up a funnel or a "launch", but people started buying.

After you've done all the research and are ready to create your book, go to Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing. They have all the information there to show you how to set up your book to be sold through Amazon. It's straight forward although I found there was a bit of trial and error to get the final book to look the way I wanted it. But it works and they're selling my book

I have an ebook in the health and beauty niche that does fairly well, but my sports niche one doesn't quite get the traffic I'd like. I just haven't spent enough time on it yet.

I'm selling ebooks everyday outside of the IM niche...mostly on Kindle.

Heck, I even still see some sales roll in from some of the public domain PRINT books I self-published on Amazon thru CreateSpace...

Money can be made outside of the "IM" niche...

People do it every single day.

I hope this isn't taken the wrong way...but you actually used to hear alot more about it here on the WarriorForum - now...not so much.

I think Warriors are still making money outside the "IM" niche...but they just aren't talking about it as much...or when they do - no one is LISTENING because they are too busy looking for the next over-the-top offer promising them easy riches.

HI, I have been selling on Amazon for years.
But...I am not selling an e-book but music world wide on CD and digital download-MP3's and ect.

Please Note: I really doesn't matter if you're selling music or an e-book, what amazon is looking for is...Top Quality products to sell, with great CD's Muisc, ebooks, books and ect....Please note amazon requires must copyrights on all books,CD's DVD's Movies, music and ect...

Can anyone get on amazon.com ....NO....you have to be very good at what you do and you must own copyrights.

Yet I think almost anyone can get on amazon, if they really work hard at it and never give up.
I happen to be a talented music artist and well known now, so I have no trouble having my music sold on amazon, itunes or in stores off line and airplay on real radio stations and not just internet radio.
My point is to sell on amazon, you must be somewhat of an artist in one way or another. Also I am not bragging in saying this, I just want you to know you must work very hard to reach your goals, there's no get rich quick master plans to quality products, because quality is the real deal.
In other words if you sell an e-book on amazon, besure you're giving the readers the real scoop !

Whether you need a "long" web-presence before you start selling anything ohutside IM, and "how long", is a difficult question to answer. But depending upon your marketing skills it may or may not need a "long" presence.

In fact, have you read Paul Coleman's Kindle WSO? I thought that was wonderful (I'm not affiliated, just a happy customer) in this regard.

Thanks guys for your time here - i'll be working through your posts in more detail.

My ebooks are videos embedded into a PDF. Kindle isn't playing video yet, so will Amazon support it if it isn't Kindle friendly? IPad isn't playing video yet either, so your left with iphone/computer. Is this enough?

Any POD like CreateSpace or LULU is necessarily going to incur significant up-front expenses for the author, so in that regard it is not an option for most newbies.

Kindle seems to be more newbie-friendly, so that might be the best choice for now.

      Yeah...because CreateSpace is so expensive...

It's free, by the way....$40 to upgrade to the "Pro Package"...hardly what anyone would call "significant".

It's SUPER easy to sell for the Kindle format. You just upload a PDF here:
    https://kdp.amazon.com/self-publishing/signin

    And it's free.

For createspace you only have to pay a few dollars for a proof copy to review and approve (I don't anymore, but new publishers might). The $40 upgrade to the pro plan is definitely worth it for a "real" book that isn't public domain or junk content and really increases sales.

An important thing that you should do for traffic generation is put your domain on the first page of your book with a special offer on the FRONT PAGE of your book.

The reason this is important is because on Amazon (If you're publishing through createspace) there is a "look inside" feature where the buyer can look at the first few and the last few pages of the book.

If the title of your book matches the keywords you're targeting and you have a special offer (free report, videos, etc.) with your url on the first page you can drive a HUGE amount of targetted traffic on to your mailing list for free, using Amazons SEO power, PPC, etc.

I once sell an ebook related to time management niche. I sell many copies worth $47.
In my personal belief I think there is much more money in the internet then you think. You just need to digg a little deeper.

check out www.bookbaby.com i just got my first paycheck from them for an ebook I wrote called Running For Weight Loss, they spit it out to all the major distrubutors.

I wouldn't recommend anything on here that hadn't made me money, so it's a good investment if you have a good title, some reviews and of course a good product.
