Why twitter get such a high PR?

Hello warriors!

I have noticed that lots of Twitter pages has very big PR. Their page ranks usually are even bigger than the original twitter page owner's website. How come? Why google rank it higher? Shouldn't the original website be higher?

Hi Katie!

Well the thing is maybe because twitter has tons of back links.
Another thing is that everyone links to their personal/business pages at twitter.

  It could be the thing.
  However, I read somewhere that Twitter profile page gets high PR only if you update it frequently. If not it don't receive high PR.
  What do you think about that? Maybe it's just because the updates?

  Hm, most likely you are right.
  It could depend on updates.
  In addition, Google treats Social media website in a different way, that's why their PR is higher.

What about the follows/followers? Does that affect your Twitter page PR?

  I believe that follows and followers don't affect twitter page rank.
  It's only traffic and backlinks.

  It's because Twitter is such a big site with millions of users with their own Twitter pages.
  
  A little known fact about Google PageRank is that they incorporate a random number into their algorithm. This is designed to make it impossible for competitors to reverse engineer and difficult for marketers to manipulate.
  
  Normally, you don't notice this at all. But, when you deal with a site such as Twitter, where there are around 200 million users with their own Twitter pages, you'll notice the affect the random unit has in the PageRank algorithm when certain of those pages have inexplicably higher PageRanks than others.
  
  The thing is to not worry about PageRank. It'll only keep your mind off the goal. The real goal is to create quality content in order to get more traffic and backlinks. Focusing on PageRank often becomes a distraction from that.

  Yes you are certainly right here! Traffic ... traffic... but the numbers of people that follow you should also appear like half or almost half of the people that you follow ...otherwise it would look like you are just stalking.. :p

Twitter has many backlinks from high page rank domains which certainly helps the page rank of twitter.
