Can Clickbank Screw Me?

Hi Warriors,

Can you adsvise me please?

Between Ist January and 31 March 2011 I recorded 4588 hops and 53 sales which equates to 87 hops per order. I have previously had better conversion ratio.

During March 2011 the vendor changed his linking strategy to a basket arrangement but told me that miy links are still good, however my sales have dropped dramatically.

For exmaple I have gone 435 hops now without a conversion although my traffic from Social network and Google remains much the same. I have changed some of my links to the vendors new landing pages, but stilol little improvement.

I have asked the vendor who assures me that all is fine at his end, and clearly my Clickbank affiliate account is being credited with the hops, but is it possible that my commissions are being hijacked or stolen?

Any insights would be much appreciated,

kind regards,

Jon

There's so many variables in a situation like this that no one can really answer accurately without seeing the sales page and the ads etc. etc.

Clickbank is not screwing you although it's possible if something in the vendor's sales process has changed that it's affecting your results.

Try opening a new account and using your new user ID in your old affiliate links. If the sales bounce back, there might be an issue with Clickbank. If not, there's some other variable at play.

I remember when I had a lot of missing sales because ClickBank "screwed up". It is not reliable at all. A missing sale is like $80 for me.

So, by 'basket arrangement," does he mean the first clickthru does not lead directly to the checkout page, but instead leads to a "add to order" type page, with a button for "continue to shop"?...something like that? I could definitely see that arrangement making a difference in sales.

Yes this is how the vendor now works. I have follwed my links through the basket system and my clickbank id is still at the base of the order form - That should be safe enough I assume?

I will try another clickbank account as suggested, but I do not understand why this might make a difference?

      Many thanks to all,

      Kind regards,

      Jon

There is a theory that when CB accounts get old, ClickBank's system tends to lose sales, slowly at first until they essentially stop. When you get a new account, the sales miraculously reappear. CB denies this is the case however real-life experience indicates otherwise.

I have now had a friend follpw my links through on distant computer and myaffiliate id is at the base of the Clickbank order form.

Is this not safe enough, or is it still possible I could be losing commission?

          Many thanks for all replies.

          Kind regards,

I wouldn't believe there is a remote chance of CB cheating you. They are one of the most trusted retailers online. (at least by me )

I was once approached by a vendor to sell his product. I didn't know the person and was a bit reluctant. It could be one of those people who doesn't pay you. Then he mentioned that the product was on CB and it would be through them. That completely took care of my worries.
