How do I start guest posting?

I was told that would be helpful to start guest posting so that I can generate targeted traffic to my blog, but I don't understand how guest blogging works or how to do it.

If anyone could explain in detail, how to guest post and what the benefits are, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Guest posting earns you exposure, traffic and backlinks.

    To do it, identify the top blog owners in your niche and then email them to see if they accept guest posts. Some may even have info about guest posting on their blogs, including how to submit posts for consideration or guidelines for writing guest posts.

    If not, you can approach this in one of two ways - either ask if the site owner is looking for content on particular topic and then write it, or pre-write an article and ask around until you find someone who will publish it. Either way, when you submit a guest post, be sure to have it pre-marked with HTML to make it easier for the blog owner.

    Other than that - just do it. It really isn't that complicated

    The way I got into blog posting was leaving very detailed comments on certain blogs that I wanted to guest post on. After a couple of weeks I asked the blog owner if they accepted guest posts and took it from there.

    You'll find many blogs are happy to accept guest posts especially when they are taking vacations and such.

    Thanks, when you guest post do you have a link to your blog at the bottom of your article? Another words, how do you actually get the traffic to your site?

      Type this into Google exactly as you see it: niche + "guest post" OR "guest blog" with quotes and the captitalized OR.

      For example: weight loss + "guest post" OR "guest blog".

      That will allow the top blogs related to your desired niche pop up in search results that contain the words "guest post" or "guest blog" on the page.

      You can also try "submit a guest post", "submit a guest blog", "Write a guest post", etc.

    Definitely take the advice given by the folks up above and search for bloggers in your niche. In the meantime, I would suggest that you sign up for 2 things - MyBlogGuest and BloggerLinkUp (run by Cathy Stucker, who, I believe is also a fellow Warrior)

    These 2 sites are free, and they connect blog owners and guest posters. Both offer an email list that will also tell you all about the latest opportunities. That way, most of the searching is already done for you.
