Information overload is one of the most common problems of beginners in internet marketing.

Have you ever experienced information overload? What caused it and how did you handle it?

Thanks for sharing and I hope your inputs can benefit beginners.

Back when I got started in the early 90's, there wasn't nearly as much information out there, so in the beginning I didn't find myself in that position (for better or worse).

    I am battling it now......

I have a very hard time focusing on one thing at a time and it has been hard for me. You are right it is a huge problem for beginners.

I am dealing with it by just making myself stick to a plan. It's easy to get sidetracked and go do some affiliate thing or this thing or that thing.

I need to get my first mini site up and running and it's been a real pain getting it finished. Not any technical aspect of it, just the sheer volume of information that goes into planning the whole concept of it.

I have realized my first site may not be profitable and sure as hell won't be perfect initially. I will continue to improve it and learn from it. When it starts to convert reasonably well and I have adequate traffic I will do it again.

I know each site I do in the future will be easier than the last due to the experience gained on the prior.

I think realizing that you have to start in order to 'start' has helped me keep moving.

Got you beat there but I like how you think. I convert all of my audio books to mp3 with text aloud MP3. You can make it read fast, really fast and still 'get it' it takes awhile to get used to it but you do. In fact if I were to let anyone else listen to my audio they cant even understand it. This way when I am working at my day job 10 hours a day are spent pounding my brain with information. Not to mention any driving or idle time. I am lucky I can wear my mp3 headphones at work....I've been doing this for the last 6 months or so, my head is about to EXPLODE I have learned so much!

elliot, you can save money with that buy it now button also.

Join 'the vault' or better yet moremoney365.com but mail me for my affiliate link first This way you can have access to thousands of PLR books and software packages for the monthly price of one or two.

In addition to being able to learn from them, you can sell them when you are ready to do so.

It is hard to not turn into a "dabbler", dab a bit into this, and a bit into that...

Don't become a jack of all trades, master of none.

No matter how hard I focus, I still end up "dabbing" into things. One thing that really helps me is committing to a few things, and still allowing a small amount of time to "dab". It's all about time management.

This is a tough industry. You really have to put time into things before you see benefit sometimes and that can be very frustrating.

    Overload! I know it well.
Big picture personalities fall into the trap because they get bored with a subject and think of some other grand scheme. Flitting like a butterfly, never doing the ground work.
What I had to force myself to do is write down all the things I needed to understand in the right order and then work 1 item at a time til I knew it backwards before going on. There is just too much Info to absorb. Don't fill the whole sponge at once, squeeze it out, then do a little at a time. For some of us that's easier said than done.

Dude... if you're like me and have ADD,
info overload is a constant, constant battle.

Writing down a plan, staying focused, keeping
the plan in front of you at all times, unsubscribing
to the 100 lists you're on, and taking Omega 3
pills the size of a goat are things I've found
    helpful.

Everyone has experienced info overload, the way you deal with it is by not reading every piece of email or ebook that you find, stop buying everything and actually focus on ONE thing and master it and try to build your skills around that. Reading everything does no good unless it applies to your one skills/method that you are going after. Master one main skill, ppc, seo, article writing, blogging, social networking, copywriting, making videos, graphics, and you can create income for a lifetime!!!
