How I made $6549 Last Month (Profit)

Everyone on the forum wants to make quick cash but you can´t get there over night. I have been working on building an internet marketing business for the last 3 years and it is paying off now by giving me enough money each and every month to afford to quit my job and work full time online.
THERE ARE NO OVER NIGHT SUCCESS STORIES
If someone tells you, you can make thousands of dollars in 1 hour they are lying to you. My success has come from building multiple streams of income from multiple sources. The key to remember is that any money is still money. It doesn´t matter how small it is it all adds up. One of my ventures is making me $10 per month another one is making me $3.95 per month recurring whereas another one is making me daily commissions of $127 it all adds up!

This is what have done to build up my income streams.
Each month I set myself a goal and work out how much money I need to make to cover my expenses, bills, rent, food etc. Then I write down how much I want to put into my savings account and investment fund. I also work out how much money I need to spend on my business for example domains, hosting, email responder etc.
I write down my goals and put them in big writing in the bathroom so I can read it every morning when I wake up and before I go to bed each night.

So now I have my goals set out I work out exactly how many websites I need to flip to make this amount of money. How many sales I need to make or how many commissions I need to make per day. Then I get to work hard on my various ventures.
Remember to start small if you are just starting out don´t give yourself unrealistic goals. Work out how many gigs you need to sell on fiverr for example.

Now here is my golden tip. If you want to build a solid business model and achieve a reliable full time income choose products that have a passive income for example:
- Promote subscriptions to products. You will get a commission every month as long as they remain a member.
- Adsense can be a great recurring income as its set and forget. Once your links are placed on the net you can just leave them and wait for the clicks to come in. Do the work one time and get paid for life.
- Create your own membership sites.
- Create your own products and get affiliates to promote your products for you. They do the marketing you get paid!

I am a strong believer in 2 books that have changed my outlook on Internet Marketing if you haven´t read them make sure you go out today and purchase them or even better put the audio books on you ipod!
- The 4 hour Work Week
- Rich Dad Poor Dad
These are lifechanging books.
Please don´t hesitate to ask questions.

Great post. Hopefully many can take away some good advice. It is definitely a process. Took me longer to make money online than it did offline for myself. Its all about finding what works, sticking with it and scaling. I cannot stress how important it is to be able to create and sell your own product. You can make money selling others material, but the sweet spot will be when you can sell your own and make a living doing so. It took me a good year and half to fine tune my very first product, and to this day, it still makes me money. Congrats on your current and future success.

Yes creating my own products was the key for me. But I also incorporate promoting others products and affiliate links into those products to add multiple streams of income.
      Its about scaling for sure.

Yes, this is what has made the difference for me too. Selling services, creating products, promoting other peoples awesome products, and now a new membership site. It does all add up!

    Excellent post Nikki!

In particular I like the part where you talk about setting goals and doing financial planning. Very good!

One thing: There are over night success stories.

The only problem: Most of the time people leave out the long preparation and hard work that lead to the overnight success.

That is awesome Nikki. You are exactly right, it doesn't happen overnight. But if you are committed and focused you can achieve anything you want to. Solid advice in this post, thanks for taking the time to share it Nikki, and congrats on last month's profits! Goes to show that anything's possible with persistence and taking action.

I agree that multiple income streams is a must in this industry. I too have tons of small stuff that's been earning for years now without ever touching them. Some people might think that an extra $30/month or so is nothing, but eventually it adds up when you have tons of these little hands-off earners.

Now, I'm looking forward to reading another post in 6 months on how you've reached $10k

    totally agree with this!

it's like having your own membership site, but staying an affiliate. recurring revenue is a MUST in business, especially these days. Churning and burning customers is hard work because you gotta be out there marketing every day. This site is decent: Directory of affiliate programs that pay you recurring or residual commissions.

this is great and those books are good.

however it was the 4 hour work week that gave me the mind opening and goal orientative process that took my business to the next level. i could not put that book down, it is awesome and one of my favourite. Same with the E-Myth, if you have not read that book go grab it yesterday.

I read this in the morning (UK) and bookmarked it, because it is a micro ebook in my opinion that can be read over and over again. It really spoke to me in a way that's like joining the dots.

If I can do a bit a day, and watch my income grow I'll be very happy and I will take inspiration from this post. I know that in part it works, as I did something online and noticed soon afterwards that my Adsense income was better than the previous months. Not loads of money, but I know that what I did had an almost immediate effect

I'm striving to creating more websites online, with two unreliable PCs at the moment but I will persevere as Nikki has shown us (like many others) it is possible if we stay focused and take action.

Thank you Nikki, and the other encouraging posts.

    Hi Nikki,
Thanks so much for sharing this.

Im a product creator myself also, and have now been full time at IM since October 2008. So about 2 and a half years.

Can I ask....did you find as you entered into your third year that the money started to come easier?

Im now at $2,500 a month, per month (passive) and am hoping to push this to $4,000+ by years end.

Would you agree that there is a big difference between your earnings for year 2, as opposed to year 3?

      Sorry just got your PM.
Yes the money has definatly come alot easier in the 3rd year. I have been more confident and had more money to invest into my business. I have outsourced more of my work enabling me to pursue other things and build on my profits.

I can vouch for Rich Dad Poor Dad too. That book changed my life. 5 years ago I was $37,000 in debt and worked a job I hated. I havent had a job now in 4 years.

The second book however was the real kicker for me ..."Cashflow Quadrant". That book was the reason I quit my job.

        I HIGHLY recommend both.

Unfortunately there are some guys that are so pessimists; they say " How I could accomplish this?"

First I will set goals for the day, the week, the month, the year, and my life. Just as the rain must fall before the wheat will crack its shell and sprout, so must I have objectives before my life will crystallize.

In setting my goals I will consider my best performance of the past and multiply it a hundredfold. This will be the standard by which I will live in the future.

Never will I be of concern that my goals are too high for is it not better to aim my spear at the moon and strike only an eagle than to aim my spear at the eagle and strike only a rock?

"Success is often achieved by those who don't know that failure is inevitable."

    I hope this motivate you

Great advice. I agree that multiple income streams is the way to go. Plus, you never know when you'll hit the jackpot with one. As long as you keep churning out work, you'll keep seeing rewards.

I write and sell books on Amazon and some of them bring in a couple hundred a month, while others bring in $1,000+, but when I started, I was making about $50 a month with mind-numbing article writing, so it's definitely important to stick with it. All the expertise you gain pays off.

I love posts like this. Down to earth - straight to the point with no fluff. Most of all very honest.

I've dabbled as a hobby with IM - if I'm truthful I've found it has made me some money however; the majority of last year and most of this year I've focused on offline which has made me nice money but no profit as after life bills etc. money has just gone right into my IM goals.

This year is my year for product creation and affiliates. Exciting but also takes money to set up and get right.

I can't possibly do what I want to do for free so that is another factor I'm sure you totally get, especially in the first few years of serious IM.

I also took a big break from here because honestly, it was way too distracting to have all these shiny new things present themselves to me. I'm a bit stricter with my time here now

I've read 4-hour work week and its great.

Thanks Nikki - I'm really happy you've made IM work.

Thanks Nikki for that post. I'm a newbie in this area but have been interested in and tried making money with adsense and websites recently. I have found that I LOVE it.. like I could literally be a workaholic in flipping websites, building and keeping them, and flipping domain names. I have no tech experience for building sites myself , so I've purchased already done sites through this forum. IF anyone cares to share the best kinds of sites to purchase or from whom , that would be great. I , of course, would love to be the one selling the sites continuously but finding the sources seem so hard because there are so many places to do this from. I'm going to be buying a course, on this forum of course, on flipping websites. I have a question in another thread on which one would be the best. I think I've decided on the one, but it's really expensive. I'm not expecting to get rich, but I would really love to make my income online. Thanks again for the post, you give a stay home mom, wanna be internet marketer... hope!!

I like Flippa and this forum although the fees suck on Flippa which is one of the reasons I like WF. I can sell more than 1 site in my threads making it more economical!

Great post! I know what you mean about no overnight successes - it only seems that way to those who are not doing it.

I have spent the last year writing software for my latest venture - It's not easy when you are pulling yourself up, but that is where the hard lessons, the essential lessons, are learned. Without them, you will not be able to face the bigger issues when the time comes.

And the challenges only get bigger as your vision is enlarged. Dream Big, Work Hard, Move Ahead. It works - but like exercise, requires self-discipline.

And I believe that last word is the reason that so few find it to the pinnacle of success.
