Product Launch Debate: What time of year do people have the MOST MONEY to buy?

Warriors:

Obviously, you can make money on product launches any time during the year....but have you sensed there are certain times of years that are better than others? Specifically for high end products around $700-$1200....kind of like the Mike Filsaime or Frank Kerns puts out?

In my opinion, February-May are THE BEST TIMES to launch a product with September-November coming in second. I've noticed (behaviorally speaking) people tend to be more optimistic during the beginning part of the year .... and are willing to put more money into "new adventures" or invest in their knowledge.

June-August are not as good as the majority of people (not from the south or warm weather climates) tend to be more outdoors and parting as Spring and Summer Fever hits (here in the US Anyway). I've noticed that August is not a good month as parents tend to be strapped for cash sending their children for school, getting books, supplies, tuition fees, sports fees ect... December and January are probably the worst months to launch a product giving the massive amounts of expenses

Thoughts/Opinions Anyone?

I have never tried to release that high end of a product, Chris.

This post is to help you maybe gain a bit more interest and responses to your question, though. All the best,

Unless there is a hard evidence to prove the above theory... it reminds me of what a minister said about church attendance in his congregation:

There are two big reasons people don't go to church - the nice weather and the bad weather.

I like Istvan's remark. But yeah, Its hard to really know unless you have the experience of launching products year round. But based on intuition I would agree with you on the Feb-May answer. Another factor to consider is that people get tax refunds in May...so that might help.

That's another reason...I forgot to mention it. I've got a friend of mine who works at walmart. They always cut staff right when school starts around Mid August and between January-February....

  • Really? Hmm...

I've always thought that November and December are the best times for any product.

Sure there are a lot of expenses, but generally people are in the buying mood. And they spend in spite of whatever expenses they have.

Usually so much so that they can't pay off their credit card fees...

Or perhaps, another way of looking at it... They have so much expenses that they don't think twice about buying an expensive product that claims to help them make bank and pay off those expenses...

The best time to launch a product is the minute it's ready.

I'd rather have 10% of the sales from a poorly launched product, than 100% of the sales from a product that's waiting for the "perfect" day.
