Is anyone still using MONEY MADE TESTIMONIALS on their sites?

Is anyone still using legitimate testimonials on their site where your customers tell how much money they made using your information? If so, what have you done to make them compliant with the FTC?

Has anyone read this report here on how to legally use testimonials on your sites? Testimonials | Case Studies It sells for $97.00 and I have NO affiliate arrangement with them.

Thanks
Steve

    Hi,

never heard that anyone was sued for their customers testimonials.
    Is it a real thing?

You don't have to order their stuff. I just wondered if they are revealing information for how I can use all the REAL testimonials I have from customers that talk about money they have made using my information. I don't know what to do with them since the "safe harbor" disclaimer is no longer valid.

So my question stands: Has everyone removed their money-made testimonials or are they risking it in the hopes that the FTC would warn them first?

The FTC is for real and I sure wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of them.

There has been much in the news for the last uh year about what the FTC is doing about false testimonials and what not. Search the forum about the FTC crackdown.

Everytime someone talk about FTC sueing you, Frank Kern has very wise words. The FTC took all his asset, Frank learned from that and now he's even richer.

Here is a very interesting post about Testimonials from him:

        http://masscontrolsite.com/blog/?p=59

...The most significant change to the revised guides is the deletion of the "safe harbor" that has long allowed advertisers to use testimonials who reported specific successful experiences with an advertised product or service as long as the advertiser included a disclaimer such as "Results not typical." Under the revised Guides, advertisements that feature a consumer and convey his or her experience with a product or service as typical when that is not the case will be required to clearly disclose the results that consumers can generally expect.
