Offline Seminars... Figured Something Out

At my recent offline seminar, I realized something...

Many say that they had major breakthroughs when they went to some offline seminar, and I've often wondered what was it about offline events that does that for people. I mean, it did that for me too years ago when I went to my first event (thanks puddy).

What do you think it is for many?

I think one major reason is you get to see in person others who are doing this successfully, and realize they are weird, strange, awkward, have faults, are not perfect, nothing special at all, and quickly realize.... you can do it too!

If you meet someone who is doing high six figures or even millions, then realize they are not perfect, not even that great at things, and realize they have faults too, you start believing you can do it too.

You start realizing that many are like-minded and we have lots in common with each other. You realize we're just people with fears too. Yes, even millionaires have fears and many weaknesses.

You start realizing that there are many ways to make a bunch of money online, and many are doing it in different ways. You realize that it just takes sticking to it and you realize you can REALLY do this.

I guess it's just different seeing it in person, than seeing in in writing or even on some video you watch somewhere. You see newbies who are eager and lost, and you see advanced folks who are eager and lost too. lol

Our market certainly has some good polished speakers, and they often dont sell well at events, not like the bad speaker who just has good solid stuff. You see a great speaker who is rehearsed and practiced, and you see the next speaker who is far from that, but delivering quality and actionable content.

After the event, you find yourself eating dinner next to someone who seems like a snapperhead only to later find out he/she does a million online and is a big player. WHAT?? That guy?

It sure is interesting, those offline events... some are lame, others rock, but all of them reveal something certainly telling... that you can do this too!

Highly Recommended!

Thanks for the post Eric, that's some good insight. I have been planning on finally making my way to some of those this year!

I've gone to very few offline seminars but I pick up on that through the books, especially from some of the younger authors because business is looser than it used to be. That said, I'm planning on doing more offline events for networking.

      Eric,

It's also about people going to the event with expectations.

They've made the effort and laid out the money so it's logical for them to really want to act on something they learn at the seminar.

Also, it's very energising being in a big group and that energy can keep people buzzing for the next few days and help them to take action.

Not everybody will take action, but it would be interesting to compare the percentage of people who attended a live seminar who did take action to the percentage of people who just watched it online and did something.

Eric, I think you have an excellent point about seeing people are just normal folks making great money.

When people are online looking at the end result of a polished campaign, it is easy to think, "Wow. I wish I could do that. I'll never be good enough to put something like that out."

Then we meet the person behind it and a whole new world opens up, because we immediately know we CAN do it. We see first hand that the only thing they have over us is experience, which we can easily acquire.

Great post - I hope it helps some people get out to an event - there are several great ones coming up over the next few months.

I actully love this post eric.

Your stuff is great, I had to read this twice, and is very good advice for someone advanced or beginner.

Never judgea book by its cover. Many people can help you even if you think they cant. Even talking to someone and teaching them can help you and motivate you no matter how weird it feels. Something inside you just stirrs.

I think these days I try to hang out or talk to others that inspire me. I do not really care about looks, the most slobby guys with dreadlocks that stink and are quiet are usually the guys making craploads of money online. I have been around long enough to figure that out.

Note to self : must grow dreaddies and not shower. LOL
