Domains-New exact match or aged without match?

Just wondering if you had a choice, which would you go for? I have not purchased an aged domain yet, but wondering if it would be a better idea. When I use some form of exact match, it still takes some time to build up trust in the search engines.

Your thoughts??

I like to build all of mine from scratch, yes it'll take a little time to get that confidence going but I also know the history of the domain, etc. I do think that I would purchase an aged domain but only if I'm sure of what I'm getting.

    I prefer exact match

But aged domains are very valuable though if they have a clean history...

It really depends on what you are wanting... If you want to brand the site then go with the aged domain, if you want to be selling from the site, like say with amazon, then go for the exact match...

In my opinion aged one so valuable if you know the history of that domain or you will get indirect bad influence in your website ranking and credibility in Google, Yahoo, Bing and others.

But if you pick up the right one of aged domain, you will get high credits from Google and others, because they value so much the aged domains more than the new ones.

I highly recommend you to check aged domain exact match firstly then choose the new one. If you didn't find them; choose aged domain that is near of the exact match keyword then choose the new one.

    Good luck and every warrior

Until Google decides to devalue the EMD's (which is going to be extremely difficult for them to do) I'll continue to buy brand spanking new EMDs when I'm going to rely on Google to drive traffic.

I usually go exact match as well, although more and more often I am going with an umbrella domain that can handle 100 pages or more and make sense. I find these larger, well structured sites really easy to rank for many long tail keywords. Then I am not sweating about a particular keyword. I also like the bigger sites because I feel like I am giving a lot of value to my customers.

I was looking at this myself because I've picked up a couple of old aged domains.

Most of my sites at the moment are Amazon product sniping and I won't use EMD since I'm not really looking to be banned from Amazon for copyright domains.

I was told to make sure and use a relevant domain and make sure it wasn't dropped etc... But I always like to test things myself when I have the time.

I took a 12 year old domain from a textile producer and built a gaming site from it. Fairly high competition but it's doing very well and already and getting just over 500 uniques a day ranking 1st and 3rd for the main keywords.

This is just one test so far but I have another half dozen aged domains I'm waiting on from Godaddy.

Never tried using an aged domain, but from my (limited) research I think it can be hard to find a good one at a decent price. If it's a smaller project I would definitely go with the EMD.. if it was a bigger with a large budget, I'd consider an aged with some juicy relevant links to it, though I'd probably seek some advice from someone "in the know" before actually buying.

I have discovered that "relevance" is the key. Aged domains are preferable as long as their history is clean and they are relevant to the theme of the site..... I.E. no black hat seo stuff and the main keyword matches the domain name.

Otherwise, start from scratch, invest the time and money, do it right and you'll be glad you did.
