Need advice on my first website

Hi everyone:
My first website http://www.cheapdisneyvacations.org has been up and running for nearly a month and I would like your feedback. I submitted the site to Google and Yahoo, and to a few sites for linking, including IMtalk.org, HostMyRSS.com and freetrafficsystem.com. I have read up on SEO and all that stuff, trying to tweak it to death. I use WordPress with All in One SEO Pack & Google XML Sitemaps plugins.

I wrote quite a few blogs, but the page seems long (all the blogs on home page). I read somewhere that it is bad for SEO to put the blogs on separate pages????? I worked with keywords quite a bit - keyword density seems fine. I set up a mailing list, but I don't have any incentive or offer. Where could I get a free ebook related to my topic, as an incentive to build a mailing list?

I've got 2 ClickBank links and an AdSense banner to monetize. No hits yet.

I would really appreciate an honest critique of the site. The traffic is less than overwhelming  and I really need to get on the right path before I start my next project.

Thank you in advance.

Here is what I would do if this was my site.

First, you need to get people subscribing. I would test a few different things, but I'd use Popup Domination plugin and create a free guide. Your guide could be nothing more than a blog post that you save as a pdf. This could be something like "Top 10 Places To Stay Within Walking Distance Of Disney" or something like that.

I would probably remove Adsense for now and try to capitalize only on the Clickbank product. I would visit the Clickbank authors home page and see if they have any affiliate notes and tips. Get on that list and use the info they send out if any.

I would buy the product you are promoting and review it with a video review. Showing people that you've actually got the product and walk them through it a little but don't give away the content.

For traffic, I would start by posting 3-5 articles a day at different article directories like EzineArticles, GoArticles, ArticlesBase. I would turn those articles into PDF's and upload them to Doc Sharing sites like scribd, slideshare, and docstoc.

I would also build some free blogs on blogger and other web 2.0 sites like squidoo or hubpages.

After I did all that I sit back and take a look again.

        Hi Mike

Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.
When you say "posting 3-5 articles a day", do you mean I have to write different articles besides my blog, or pick a couple of my blogs and submit them as is? I only have 5 blog entries, and I'm almost all written out. The more you say about the topic, the less a person needs the Clickbank product.
I thought getting the web site up and running with content was the hard part .

  • I would find travel related sites on fiverr with high pr and buy some links. I saw a few the other day just browsing around. Also that mickey mouse picture in the red, is really repetitive, i would switch it up a bit. Also submit your articles to sbribd and other online publishing sites, they help with building links on high pr sites.

I would concentrate on building good links, good content, and staying persistent. check out websitegrader for more suggestions on improving your site.

Focus on content and expanding to your readers instead of trying to make money off them.
Then always post content and then start to build your subscribers.

I think having an email/subscriber list is great. Use FeedBurner (free) or Aweber(paid), then you can release special deals or clickbank products to these readers (since they are already loyal to you).

    Good luck.

I would create some blogs and then use them to link to my inner pages. Deep linking is the key to ranking high in the search engines. Do not send all links to the front page. That is a mistake people make when they are novices.

Google want to find content not web sites, so create more pages. Each is one more chance for your to win. Keep adding more text and images. People often will find my site via images.

Also create you tube videos of your own. People love to see movies. In the description link back to your site's main page, and to inner pages.

I think this is a fantastic idea for a site.

    But...

It is only a matter of time before you get a thin white envelope from the Disney legal department and I can promise you that it won't be good news.

You need to find a different domain and you need to do it before investing too much time into this one. Also, make sure the new one is a .com.
