Wordpress themes... should I use a different one?

I recently just started a blog on baby monitor reviews & product information. Here is the link www.mybabymonitorreviews.com, if you look at the right side bar, you will see it says 'Post-plugin library missing' about half way down the page. I don't know what this means.

Also, I am unsure on which wordpress theme to use anyway. Are there certain themes which are better in terms of SEO? If so, does anyone know where I can look for some?

Any advice would be appreciated

    Hi Kerri,
it seems you have to update post plugin library which you should be able to find on your dashboard as a plugin.

I am no expert, but believe that any wordpress site is good for seo according to Matt Cutts.
Your site also looks good when I run it through a meta analyser.

I have had some success with my wordpress site.

By the way I have tried the flexibility3 theme which said it was good for seo, but did't find it too good.

Whatever your theme, I would also install either seo ultimate or wordpress seo by yoast.(they have slightly different features)

I had a look at my dashboard but couldn't see anywhere I could update this. In my plugins section it states this at the top of the page:

The plugin post-plugin-library/post-plugin-library.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.

Does anyone have any idea why this may have happened?

I suspect this is a theme issue. Try switching back to the default 2010 theme and see if that message is still there.

If it isn't, then try looking for another theme.

Also - I hope you don't mind me saying this - but I'm guessing (hoping) that you didn't write those articles yourself. They're horrible. All words and no actual content. No-one will read them and get any useful info from them

      Write some real posts yourself.

Rosetrees - Thanks, I will try switching back and see if the issue disappears. I guess if there is something missing from the theme I am currently using then I should just find another one (in case whatever is missing is important)?

Thanks for your honest opinion on the articles. Only one was written by me 'how to prevent sids'. The rest I paid for, and were written by another warrior member. I would love to hear what makes the articles horrible. In this case I will either try writing articles myself, or outsource them from a better writer. In order for me to try writing myself, could you please let me know what you feel these articles are missing.

        Thanks again!

          Hey Kerri -

Have you tried going to your plugins area to see if that plugin exists? If it says deactivated it should still be visible and you can delete it.

Or... if that doesn't fix it, try activating it and changing the settings of the plugin.

I looked in your source code and here is what I found:

    Post-Plugin Library missing<div id="tag_cloud-3" class="widget widget_tag_cloud"><h3>Baby Monitor Reviews Topics</h3><div class="tagcloud"><a href='http://www.mybabymonitorreviews.com/tag/are-baby-monitors-necessary/' class='tag-link-16' title='1 topic' style='font-size: 8pt;'>are baby monitors necessary</a>

It seems there is that extra text in your code right before your text cloud. If you delete "Post-Plugin Library missing"
that text SHOULD go away from your site. BACKUP before you play with the code or just make sure you remember where you made changes so you can go back if it changes for the worse.

    Regards,
    Clint

Thanks for the info, does this mean that there is something missing from the actual theme then? Would removing this leave any problems at all? Thanks!

    Hi Kerri,

One of the courses I tried has suggested using the Socrates theme.

I think you have a plugin that has failed somehow. I'd look at the plugins, see if you can match anything to it, and remove it.

The articles were a little "thin" perhaps, but not hideous in my opinion.

Did a quick google of the error (ALWAYS google your errors, you are never the only person with it!) "post-plugin library missing", w/o quotes - and there were pages of entries. It's a plugin issue, as I suspected. Delete the plugin, then replace it.

Thanks for the advice I've had so far. I have looked at my plugins, and every plugin is currently active which is strange.

Is there a plugin titled Post-Plugin Library? If not, it could be an error in your theme which can be fixed by editing the theme files (which I don't suggest if you're not familiar with PHP). It's not difficult but could result in the loss of data if you make a mistake.

Hi, wordpress is trying to tell you that it had to deactivate the plugin, because iti is missing, there are a few things this could be, it sounds like wordpress cannot "find" the plugin where it "thinks" it should be at, so it is not activated, now you may need to manually delete the plugin files on your server using FTP, then "upoad" a new copy of the plugin and activate it, if that does not fix the problem then you have a path issue in the plugin itself or the widget and or theme is referencing a path that does not exist, either way it sounds like there is a communication issue going on.

let us know how it goes.

The plugin post-plugin-library/post-plugin-library.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.

Okay well that was an easy fix! Couldn't believe it - I searched 'post plugin library' in the search plugin section, found the plugin with that name, and installed & activated it. Problem solved!

Thanks everyone for all the advice. Glad this issue is now fixed
