Looking For Some "Contructive" Criticism On My First Niche Site

Hey Warriors,

Just got this site "done". Wanted to get some feedback from the pros. What am I missing? How can I improve? What sucks?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

www dot howtoflattenyourstomachfast dot net

I'm obviously new so they won't let me post any links, sorry :-(

Looks good. I would recommend hyperlinking the URLs you inserted in your signature on the About Us and Contact Us Page. That will help a little with SEO.

Great first site! I really like it I would only add one suggestion, but it's only my opinion - you should have a call-to-action at the end of your website. Some visitors might get engaged and read it through all the way to the end (therefore you should really work on the end as a culmination of the benefits of the product, as well as a clear call-to-action)

Another great suggestion, thanks! I work on implementing that. So...do you think I should have calls to action / affiliate links in all of the posts? Or just the one at the very end?

It's fine the way you did it - just add another one on the end, and make it very appealing for visitors to click

    Hi

Good effort, I would put a video with a link to your affiliate product. you can do that at linkedtube.com it's free

    Create a facebook page
    Create a twitter account
    Put a sharing plugin

Now tell me you have done a thorough keyword research that has yielded 12 to 20 buying keywords
Tell me that you are currently writing relevant articles for these keywords
Tell me that you have a plan for your on page optimization
tell me that you have an awesome backlinking strategy to propel those chosen keywords to the top of Google (hopefully)

Your work has only just begun

    Good luck

Duh, I left out the whole reason I posted... I see you have adsense down below... I don't like mixing the two, affiliate and adsense on same site. Two reasons, you are giving them a cheap option to leave if they see something else while scrolling down. So your losing 15-20-25 dollars for a $1.00 click. I like to keep my outbound options to a minimum.. The second and more importantly, you won't be able ( in theory) use PPC to try to sell the product. Adsense TOS states you can not have paid visitors to any site using adsense..

It's just an option I learned, and want to share, that decision is all yours in the end... Great looking site though..

That makes sense. Guess I'm just anxious to get the ball rolling (i.e. make money). So anxious that I would gladly take a 1.00 sale over nothing, but you're right I should focus on the affiliate sale.

Seems like a lot of side bar to leave blank...any suggestions as to what I should put in the side bar? Or should I just leave it blank? Guess I could put a "recent posts" widget in there or something, anything better for SEO?

Actually it is a wordpress site, I'm using the thesis theme here.

Thanks for the feedback, but i wonder if you're looking at a different site, cause my sidebar is on the right. Or is it showing up differently for you? let me know if it is so I can fix it. Thanks!

There is also a .org version of your site.
It looks good, only thing I'm picky about is the somewhat blurry header.

I agree with the header, I was wondering if I should even have the image of the woman in the header, wasn't sure if that was taky or not. It does need to be cleared up a bit.

Should I be selling a different affiliate product then the .org site? Or does it add credability that we are both selling the same product?

  • I like it, it is well organized and it flows well. My only suggestion would be to work on the header graphics and text, I also think its a bit too tall. If you're not good with graphics get someone on fiverr to make you a header that is about 150 or 175 pixels tall. Put an arrow by the click here to learn more, to help lead the eye there. good job, i think its great for a first site.

Not bad. Few things. It looks like you are using WP which is good. Add the Contact 7 plugin instead of asking people to email you. Also, add a hyperlink on your About Page to the actual contact page. Honestly, for a niche site, you can combine this page. Good on you for having a privacy policy. Lastly, if you are going to have articles - which is good for SEO, have a way to navigate - you can add a tab at top of even a sidebar to the posts. Good luck!

It looks professional. Contact 7 is a great contact form as mentioned. I recommend it.

How will you drive people to this site? It's a very competitive niche.

At the moment you have a duplicate content issue on your site. You have all your articles displaying in full on your homepage (ww.homepage.c0m) and also on their on own pages (ww.homepage.c0m/articlepage).

I would make the homepage show exerts with a link to show the full story on its own page, that way Google will see only one full copy and treat that as the original and rank it accordingly.

    Good job though

This is a very good first effort, so kudos to you!

I would suggest adding a little more content, along with the navigation tabs that another Warrior recommended. Often, I will bookmark sites that have good information, and my purchases may occur on the second or even third visit to the site. Additional content will also help improve your page rank.

Overall, though, excellent job for a first-timer!
