How to edit a wordpress theme? A little help please

I'm using the wordpress theme "Manifest" and there's a few random lines in the template that I want to delete. Below is a screenshot so you know what I mean..

I want to delete those 2 random lines above the text, but I just don't know how. I've been trying to looking for clues in the code, but it isn't my strong point

A little help would be greatly appreciated because it's starting to frustrate me now

Changing a theme's settings is not recommended. Try using a different theme instead.

If you want my recommendation, try out a wootheme. You can just google woothemes to find them. A lot of them you have to pay for, but I just use the free ones. I find that they are professional looking and they are search engine optimized.

Anyway if you want to try that out instead I hope it works out for you.

P.S. I am not endorcing Woothemes in any way, I am simply recommending them because I have used them and had good results.

I've got a suggestion... there's a plugin for the Firefox browser called Firebug. It allows you to right click on any part of a web page and view the specific html/css/code that is used to create that element of the page.

I use it all the time to quickly find where to go in the source code or css file. It's free and easy to install and use.

It looks to me that it could be a few different things... an image, a horizontal line or a border. All of which can be edited in your theme's css style sheet (usually style.css)

I recommend copying the stylesheet before you make any changes in case it gets changed around and you don't know how to get it back to normal.

Firebug will make it easier for you to determine what it is and where you can remove it.

There is an easy way to edit a theme: Create a new one using Artisteer. It's a GUI based system as simple as MS Word. It allows very deep alterations of the theme, as well as an export for wordpress feature. Very easy & worth whatever it costs, if you really want a unique, customized theme.

I agree with DustonMcgroarty - Firebug is an excellent tool.
