Can a beer drinking, potty mouth, truck driving, college drop out succeed at this???

Hello Warriors,

I joined this forum and have been lurking around the last couple weeks. Every free minute I've had since joining this wonderful community has been dedicated to learning as much as I can about internet marketing. I've read more in the last two week than I did while attending three years of college (Stay in school kids. Truck driving sucks!). I now truly understand the definition of, "information overload."

We have to realize fellow newbies, that all the information, tips, and strategies shared freely here, doesn't do a damn bit of good if we don't take action! I for happen to be fed up with my situation. I hate my life! I mean, thousands of dollars in student loans, maxed out credit cards, collections every other phone call and a job that barely keeps food on the table are all reasons enough to drive a person insane! Honestly, if I didn't have such a wonderful and supportive woman in my life, I'd probably take the coward's way out and run my truck off the side of a cliff.

Woe is me I have faileth! I have no one to blame but myself and no one can fix this but myself. So, no more whining. No more pity parties. And most importantly, no more wasting 3 hours a day on this forum reading and not taking action! It's time to turn this around and create the life I've always wanted.

Long Term Goals:

1. Financial Independence.
2. Tell my boss to F*** off.
3. More time with my girl.
4. Ditch the apartment and buy a house.
5. A wicked sunburn from vacationing too much.

Simple enough...

Strengths:

1. I can drink an inordinate amount of beer.
2. I know what inordinate means.
3. I have a pretty mean left hook.

Guess I need to work on my strengths.....

Weaknesses:

1. Procrastinator.
2. Full of excuses.
3. Hard time staying focused.

I can go on and on and on....

Plan:

I have a few basic strategies I will implement for the next month. No deviation. I have roughly 3 hours a day I am able to dedicate. 2.5 hours will be spent working .5 hours will be learning and keeping up on this thread.

Arsenal:

1.) Clickbank account

2.) Managed to smooth talk my in to a CPA network - It's easy as pie fellow newbies. Don't wait for them to approve you. Call them! I was approved and I didn't even have a site to put on the application. I just put www(dot)will-discuss-during-interview(dot)com for that portion of the application. I Immediately called after submitting and stated I have been marketing for 6 months and all my promotions are done by article marketing and ppc campaigns. They won't ask for clarification. Just sound intelligent and you will be fine. If you get rejected by one try another. Maybe practice on a less desirable one to get a feel for the process.

3.) Ezinearticles account

My financial goal at the end of this 30 days... $1500.00
Why?
Because I am very competitive.
and...
Because 2.5 hours a day * 30 days = 75 hours
I feel my time is worth at least $20hr.

Right now, I must sleep...Oregon is beautiful but driving through the mountains it is stressful. Tomorrow after work I will choose a couple offers and get to work...

I will keep this journal going and posting my results or failures along the way...
Fellow newbies, get inspired with me. Stop wasting time and take action on something...Anything...Chances are you have at least one strategy in your arsenal. Stop over analyzing and implement it. Stop reading this post and do it.. NOW!
Veterans, comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Wish me luck

Awesome. This is what we all need to hear.

Okay so I am farely new, but I have been studying for a really long time. Ten years. LOL. How is that for not taking true action? I have recently started too. I would have only this to say. I would go for a 90 day plan, it is shown that is usally takes about 90 days to see action really starting to happen.

I wish you all the best of luck. I bet you will have no problem in this endeavor. And if you know what inordinate means then you should be able to write well. That should help. I look forward to reading your posts and I will be marking this thread to follow.

If you have the will to succeed than you can do it!

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. - Thomas Edison

Don't be afraid to fail. Simply pick yourself up and try again. If all else fails it seems like you could be a talented article writer. If you take a look in my blog I link to in my sig I mention some sites that could get you started with that. Even if it isn't something you want to do long term, it is a great way to make some fast money. It is how I got my start up money and then I realized I really enjoyed it and now I plan to make a living out of it!

Good luck, it's an exciting time. It's even more exciting when you have some completed work to show for it. Stick to your plan and don't veer from it. There's no doubt you can earn $1500 from the time spent building up your sites over the course of 30 days, but most sites usually take at least 3-5 weeks (and sometimes up to a few months) to begin getting enough traffic to generate a regular flow of income. If you're doing bum marketing, that's another story. Regardless, if you stick to your plan, a month from now you'll have planted the seeds for a foundation that facilitates future growth. Keep at it and good luck.

    Fischer, you sound overqualified

Seriously, you have taken a huge step in defining your goals before you even start. It's the one thing most people don't do, and this is a big reason why most people don't succeed (very hard to succeed when you haven't decided in advance what success is).

You also appear to have a very bright, outgoing and humorous personality, which goes a long way in this business. People buy from people, so the more 'real' you are, the better.

Action taking is a skill like any other, and you can learn it. You've made a commitment to a number of hours and broken down how you are going to use them. Again this is something most people never do, so kudos for that. Get an accountability partner (someone you check in with once a day or once a week) who will make you feel guilty if you've skipped work or haven't done what you said you were going to do. It really helps overcome the procrastination (and you do the same for them, nothing gives a buzz quite so much as telling your partner everything you've done that day/week, or hearing what they have achieved in the same timeframe).

You can do this, I fully expect to see your name on a million dollar launch sometime down the road. How far down the road is in your hands Good luck.

    Fischer,

Searching, researching, studying, training, planning...all of that can use up a big chunk of energy. I speak from experience on that..LOL.

Congratulations on making the decision to actually get started.

As you mentioned Clickbank, I suggest that you select one product that you have bought for yourself, or that you would definitely buy for yourself, and that offers a solution to solve a particular problem people may have, rather than promoting a luxury type of product.

I would recommend that you go with one of the higher gravity products that are popular and selling hot now in your chosen niche.

Don't spread yourself too thin by promoting too many products and niches at once. One at a time is best.

Then advertise, advertise and advertise --daily, consistently, and persistently -- to targeted traffic.

You are on the right track, and your sense of humor and determination to improve your situation will take you a long way.

I wish it were that simple, but that is a good start.

While I admire your obvious determination and initiative, trying to earn $1500 through affiliate marketing your first month will not be easy, especially given the fact that you only have 3 hours at most per day to spend on this.

I can tell that you currently have a j.o.b. type mentality from your statement about how you're worth at least $20 per hour. You're setting up a real business here, and during this start up phase the amount you "earn" per hour is typically going to be far less than any regular job.

Focus on getting good at internet marketing instead of hitting a financial goal in your first 30 days, and dedicate yourself to writing x number of quality articles consistently per day (since it seems like this is the initial route you've chosen).

Article marketing will gain momentum like a snowball that gathers mass and speed as it rolls down the hill, but this initial phase will likely be slow and gains will not be as fast as you'd hope.

I think you're off to a good start just for the fact that you are setting goals and realizing some things.

I do want to recommend that you copy your original post and put it elsewhere. They generally frown on threads that are going to be updated frequently as it very quickly gets out of hand. They generally end up being deleted without notice.

If you don't have your own site yet, get a weebly page or start a blog over at Blogger. Post this there and then you can add your updates easily by adding new posts.

Then put the link in your signature here for anyone who chooses to follow along with your journey.

    What Tina said!

We get thousands of new members here every week, along with the tens of thousands of people who've joined previously and might also be about to start taking it seriously.

Most people never follow through. The ones who do, though, end up updating their threads on a daily or greater basis. Doesn't take many of those to fill a page.
