Firefox Cookies/history/cache Accidently Deleted- Is there ANY way to retrieve or restore them????

I'm so bummed right now I think I'm gonna bawl So I was using advanced system care to clean up my computer and forgot to uncheck privacy sweep which I normally do to avoid the cookies being cleared. Now all my firefox cookies are gone and I have no way to recover them.

I haven 't cleared or deleted my firefox cookies or history in about 2 years! Now everything is gone

Immediately after, I tried doing a system restore but that did not work. The cookies, history, and everything are still missing.

I've checked google for some solutions but to no avail.

Some perhaps useful information: I'm using firefox 3.6.17 on windows xp.

Does anyone have a solution for how I can retrieve my firefox cookies???

*additional info*

I'm pretty sure the cookies are what I'm referring to but maybe its not.

You know when you use firefox and you type in a few letters in the address bar and firefox will give you suggestions of websites that you've previously visited that match the actual site or title (even if its months old). This is what has gone and what I want to recover. Is cookies the correct term? Or perhaps they are called cache files?

Firefox does not create backups of the cookies, so if deleted they can not be recovered.

If you created a backup of your profile folder, you could restore the cookies.sqlite file from your backup.

system restore, is for system configuration, it will never change files.. so its normal that didn't work..

and i'm afraid it's all lost, deleted is deleted (unless you have some good pc memory knowledge, you can retrieve it (if it isn't yet overwritten) from the disk)

I'm not sure how Firefox stores cookies, but I would try and find a good "find and restore deleted files" program (you'll probably have to pay for a good one).

It's very unlikely your deleted files would be over-written in such a short space of time. So act quickly.

      Just my thoughts,

      Jeff.

one of the best ways to recover a files

however, if your computer, I mean firefox, created other cookies with the same name, you probably won't be able to recover them.

Using system restore will restore everything but may delete files that were created after the restore point, so it's not recommended.

For OP, I'm afraid there's no way to restore the cookies. Why would you need to save cookies? I delete my cookies almost everyday. Don't you know that your browser's cookies can be stolen? It means your personal data such as email can easily be hacked. And there's also decrypter that can decrypt the cookies' value so your passwords, etc can be revealed as text.

@g36 Because there are a lot of websites, forums, blogs, etc that I frequent but I dont know the names of most of them. Just typing in a few letters into the firefox address bar and it will usually suggest the right site, i'll scroll down and hit enter to go.

Also there are a lot of pages that I may visit once or twice and end up needing a few weeks or months later but only remember the title and not the website. Simply by typing in the title- firefox will take me to the correct website...
