Yes, something can be learned from this. Alex Tew found a trend, jumped on it, and cashed out. I'm assuming he has advanced skills in programming and created that site himself in a relatively short amount of time.

Lesson learned: find trends in places like Google, news sources, Ebay, and cash in on them!

When ever something like this happens in the news there is always, ALWAYS a flash based video game based around it. The second I saw it happening live I was thinking "flash game available in 3...2..1" and I wreckon I wasn't alone.

So, have a programmer on the ready and next time something like this happens tell him to start working.
