Transcription Tools?

Hi again Warriors,

I just want to know what transcription services/softwares you guys use.

Are there any free/cheap and reliable downloadable software(s) for transcribing audio?

Or a cheap reliable service?

What do you guys use?

    If it's well trained on your voice, DragonDictate NaturallySpeaking will do a reasonable job. You'll still need to spend quite a bit of time editing it.

    Personally, I find it more cost-effective to pay someone to transcribe it and to iron all the language problems.

    The best place I've found for getting good value transcription is via oDesk jobs. I also know of quite a few people who use Fiverr for shorter audios (but you end up with a lot of admin if you have longer audios and need to split them across multiple Fiverr gigs).

      If you are looking for a free software for transcription, I use Express Scribe. I also own Dragon as well for when my hands get over worked and I can just speak into the mic and then edit for misspellings. Express Scribe is free. I hook up my footpedal to my computer and transcribe with ease. It's great. It's made by NCH software.

        Hey, Dude. I get terrific transcripts from this lady called clowdine from Fiverr.

        Do check her Fiverr profile out because this is my way of doing her a favor. She has really helped me a lot and is very professional.

      Thanks Janet, cool info. I'll check out the software.

      Right now I do use Dragon Naturally Speaks when to do my draft so that when I do my videos or seminars, I already have a script - slight modifications afterwards will suffice.
