Wordpress Username? - Please Help Me

Hi all.

I can not figure this out. At the top of a post you see this:

Posted on May 10 2011 by Nickname

Then, when I rollover and click on my Nickname, you can view: http://www.someexamplessite.com/author/Nickname which is the blog archive.

Some of my blogs make the Nickname an active link and and others don't. It does not seem to be theme based and I cannot remember what I have done differently.

Is there a simple setting somewhere, that prevents users from click the post author nickname and view the blog archive???

Thanks.

It is theme-based. There is no setting to turn it on or off. Depending on how your theme is set up, the offending tag could be in one of the main template files (index.php, single.php, etc.) or in a loop file (loop.php, loop-single.php, etc.).

The tag you're looking for is the_author_link(). Change it to the_author() and the link will go away, or vice-versa if you actually want the link.

      Hi Steve,

Thanks for that. Are you familiar with the paid Elegant Themes?

I have searched the files and can't find an area to edit the author tags, but I can in standard themes.

      Cheers.

Why aren't you using the Elegant Themes support forum?

    @christopher

Previously, no one could help me but the creator. I don't want to hassle him directly again, but looks like i'll have to.

I am totally baffled by this....

So, you bought a product and asking for technical support on the seller's site is hassle. Even if you paid them.

On the other hand, asking technical questions in a completely unrelated forum (just a reminder: this is the place where we are supposed to talk about making money, not to solve your technical issues!), so asking questions here and wasting everybody's time is fine.

      What a twisted logic

So you have nothing constructive to add...

Just realized why they called this the "warrior" forum.
