Finding the best blogs to comment on in your niche

Hi there

I was wondering if anyone can give a bit of advice. What is the best way to find blogs to comment on within your niche?

I am trying to build some backlinks, but not spam. So I want to post relevant interesting content. I am in the legal niche, so it shouldn't be hard to do, since there is ALOT to talk about!

My problem is that when type my "keyword(s)" + blog into Google I am stuggling to find any that:

a) allow comments
b) allow comments with links and
c) are not full of spam!

Is there a site that I can go to which will tell me good blogs for a specific keyword, for instance?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Clojo

it might be an idea to use scrapebox, and target a footprint to your niche, scrape the relevant blogs and then filter out the rubbish. Once you've done that just manually post your comments, or have a VA do it.

Have a search on scrapebox footprints and you will get the search strings you need

    good luck

Clojo, make use of commentluv - i used to LOATHE blog commenting as a form of promotion (i'm still not keen) but if you use blogs with commentluv installed it can be beneficial for both yourself and the blog owner.

    search:
    niche "commentluv"
    niche "commentluv is enabled"

best if you have a blog as it pulls from the feed your latest entry, but even if you don't most of these sites are well maintained and often dofollow.

    good luck!

Thanks Matt. Will have a look at this also. Really useful. I am not sure I am all that keen on blog commenting either, but it seems that it is a good way of getting backlinks by all accounts, after reading a fair few posts on here. What method do you use?

I have posted with some directories. I am also looking at legitimate forum posting. But seems very time consuming as it involves a fair amount of long term interaction.

Thanks Billy. I will have a look at this. I have heard of scrapebox but never actually got as far as looking it up.

I agree with Matt & Billy ScrapeBox is the tool for blog commenting...

what i do is that I'll scrape blogs in my niche using their custom footprint and i use the Manual Poster to post relevant comments on blogs with out spamming the hell out of them.

Another thing you should look at is forum posting in your niche...again you can use scrapebox to find forums or you can just use Google by searching for relevant forums in your niche.

    Try this type of searches

    • "Powered by SMF" your keyword
    • Phbb your keyword
    • "powered by IPB" your keyword
    • MyBB your keyword
    • "powered by PunBB" your keyword
    • "Powered by Phbb" your keyword
    • "Powered by vBulletin" your keyword

When you find forums change your signature and start posting relevant content... also most forums allow you to add profile links this type of links can help your rankings a lot.

You can also get high pr dofollow links from Squidoo

Many people don't know this, but Squidoo has some really high PR lens' and they allow you to add your own incoming links with anchor text and description.

Try the following and see if you can find some lenses...

site:squidoo.com "your keyword" "add to this list"

Also you can try the following search codes to find wordpress blogs to comment

    "powered by wordpress" your keyword

    "powered by wordpress" "your keyword"
(this is looking for an exact keyword match with the quotations around keyword)

    "powered by wordpress" intitle:your keyword
(This targets pages that have your keyword in the url of the page.)

    "powered by wordpress" inurl:your keyword

Now another way to get backlinks ...this is the easy way is to join a blog network it will cost somthing like $67 per month but it's worth it.
I'm a member of MAN (my article network) and so far it has worked for me.

    Hope this helps

Definitely get Scrapebox. It will make your life much easier. You can use footprints + your keywords and let it go to work. You'll probably get at least a few thousand unique results which you can then run through numerous add-ons. (You can check dofollow status for Wordpress blogs, check the amount of outbound links on each page, run them through the blog analyzer to see if they're open for comments, etc.)

Here's an over-simplified "how to" using Scrapebox as an "industrial strength" blog comment finder...

You'll need to fill in the details, but here the idea:

    - Spend a day or two learning the basics of Scrapebox.

    - Learn how to generate a bunch of keywords. Generate a big list of relevant keywords

    - Run Scrapbox on these keywords using as many of these search footprints as you want...I've put together a huge list of these footprints, with experience you'll find your own favorites.

    Footprints:
    - Building a Linking Powerhouse: Link Footprints, URL Harvesting and Bulk PR Check

    - Check the PageRank of the URLs Scrapebox returns, using the "page PR" selection.

    - Sort the list of URLs, with the highest PR pages listed at the top and "save" as an html file.

    - Open FireFox and install the plugin "Selection Links":
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/fir...lection-links/

If you drag your cursor over a bunch of links on a web page, then right click, this plugin will let you open each URL in a different browser tab. This is a HUGE time saver. Don't skip this step.

    - Open your Scrapebox URLs html page in Firefox and using Selection Links, open about a dozen URLs in different tabs, starting at the top, since these are the pages with the highest PR.

-Visit each page/tab and see if it's a match for you. If it is, post a comment that's good enough to "stick".

    Notes:

Searching for high PR blog posts you can comment on takes some effort and they aren't as easy to find as some people tell us. Letting Scrapebox run can do a lot of the finding automatically.

Scrapebox does have a automatic commenting (spam) feature, but this is totally whitehat, we're just using Scrapebox to find and screen the blogs to find the ones that will give us the most benefit for our time.

Also, a problem with high PR blog posts is that they are probably "aged" and making a fresh comment may not be approved or appreciated.

You can also add the "time" function for the Google searches to find recent blogs. In this case use the "homepage" feature of Scrapebox to check the homepages' PageRank and see if you can't be the first to comment on posts on popular blogs. This is essential for getting traffic directly.

Scrapebox can take up some bandwidth if you run it a lot...Also make sure your anti-virus is up to date, as it visits a lot of sites. I prefer running Scrapebox in a "virtual machine" (VMware) for maximum protection.

Again, this isn't a magic bullet and high PR blog posts don't just grow on trees. But this is a good, solid method that combines automation with white hat. And if you can't find good posts to comment on using this method, you probably won't find them yourself.

Send me a PM with your main keyword and I'll give you few hundred blogs in your niche that lets you comment. I can't promise that they will be high PR blogs but I'm sure there will be good ones among them. And dofollow

Scrapebox is a good product, but if you want something a bit cheaper and simpler, then it might be worth checking out the WSO for Rapid Backlink Scout.

How is it? I downloaded a free blog commenting tool. Put in your keyword it searches 100 at a time. It is slow going though. I try to post useful stuff and the ones that stick await moderation.

I spent about 2 hours last night and I would bet I might get 6 BL out of the exercise. I will not repeat that again.
I need something better. The articles are killing me as it is. Thanks.

To anyone interested, check out dofollow.info (not permitted to link directly) for directories of dofollow sites, including blogs. Listed blogs are even tagged and sorted by certain features: CommentLuv, KeywordLuv, Top Commentator plugin, etc.

Google Alerts...every time something is posted that contain the keywords you set up, Google will send you an email with the link. These are usually blogs. So, you'll have blogs to comment on that meet your desired niche.

    Hi,
The great thing about these cheap electric guitars is they are excellent quality and extremely cheap when compared to what you would pay for the same quality guitar with a known brand name on it. Especially their Agile guitars.

The best blogs to post on are most likely, the ones your COMPETITORS are commenting on.

Do some research on the top 10 Google search results and REPLICATE that.

    Pretty simple really.
