DLGuard vs. EasyClickGuard

Does anyone know of a pros vs cons chart of DLGuard vs. EasyClickGuard for protecting your digital downloadable files?

I see a lot of people recommending DLGuard, but some time ago I bookmarked EasyClickGuard. I don't remember why. It's cheaper, but I don't know if that is the only reason or if I saw some other benefit to it over DLGuard.

I looked through old threads but didn't find anything of help there.

Is there an advantage to DLGuard over EasyClickGuard? From reading about them, and not having any experience using either one of them, they look to me like they do the same thing.

Primary use to start would be with Clickbank.

    Hi,

I've never heard of easyclickguard - but the fact is that lots of people recommend one - and you can't find mention of the other, do these results not answer your question? (unless of course the other one is new).

    I use DLGuard - I think it's brilliant....

I have only used DLGuard, and never had a reason to try anything else. It does everything I need superbly.

I happily use and highly recommend DLGuard.

Apart from the numerous features of DLGuard one of the
biggest reasons to go with them is because of the fabulous
support offered by it's creator Sam Stephens.

Sam Stephens provides excellent support for his software
and has many, many Warriors as delighted customers.

I wouldn't consider anything else right now as DLGuard
    meets my needs.

    Dedicated to your success,

    Shaun

Dan, if God forbid anything ever happened to Sam Stephens, you'd find a lot
of Internet marketers having panic attacks.

DLGuard is THAT good and I would never even consider anything else.

And yes, Sam's service is second to none.

EasyClickGuard has been around for a while (probably longer than DL Guard).

I use it. I got a good deal about 6 months ago (maybe more) on a package deal that Adrian was running. Just as I was starting out with my first product.

It was worth it and the support I've been given has been top-notch.

Having said that, I'm very likely to switch over to DL Guard when the new version comes out.

EasyClickGuard is primarily designed to work with ClickBank, but will work with PayPal just fine. You just need to add a field to your button.

On that note, the documentation bites to be perfectly honest and that's the reason that I've contacted the helpdesk quite a lot. (Adrian and his assistant, Rob, have always answered my questions promptly and professionally, but could reduce their customer service tickets by getting the docs redone professionally).

But DLGuard is simply more versatile. You can set it up really easily so I hear and it can protect a members area of a site--which EasyClickGuard cannot.

If you use EasyClickGuard in conjunction with EasyClickMate, you can set up a nice Affiliate Tools area and customise the templates for your different sites and so on.

    I think it's a great script. Really I do.

But I think its day may have come. If I can protect any directory with DL Guard, then it seems pretty straight-forward to set up a special directory called "Affiliate Tools" and put everything in there.

Okay, as far as I'm aware it won't put the affiliate IDs into the links with the push of a button. But I'm led to believe that the new version of DL Guard will have a fully-functioning affiliate system.

But that's nothing you can't have a programmer put together fairly easily, no?

I've played around with RAP and not been overly impressed. I bought it when it first came out and it's up to version3.03 now so it may have gotten better.

I've just started tinkering again with it this week, actually.

But I'm keenly awaiting DL Guard with its affiliate system.

Presumably it'll be simple for existing customers to upgrade so if I were you, I'd go with DL Guard, actually.

Oh, on another note re: EasyClickGuard and EasyClickMate being designed to mostly work with ClickBank... considering all the brujaja of late re tracking and lost sales, I'm thinking of taking my stuff off ClickBank alltogether. That's actually one of the reasons I've been tinkering with RAP again. That and a bundle I'm thinking of putting together for New Year.

So... although I use EasyClickGuard and I like it, I think I may be setting up a new combined download protection and affiliate system when I see the new DL Guard. We'll see.

Guess it depends on what you sell and whether you want to piss around with paying your affiliates at the end of the year and all the paperwork connected with that.

Now I'm raving. Must need coffee. Or whiskey.

Actually DLGuard has been around a lot longer than EasyClickGuard.

EasyClickMate, Adrians Clickbank affiliate software has been around for a long time, but EasyClickGuard is much more recent (not sure exactly when, but recent).

EasyClickGuard is cheaper, but DLGuard does a LOT more and integrates with a lot more payment processors.

DLGuard is also updated a lot more often, with new features being constantly added.

Don't get me wrong, I do have a lot of respect for Adrian, but I know he's a straight talker and I'm sure he'd agree with what I've said here.

Dan, if you have any questions about DLGuard, please do let me know - I'm happy to help!

    cheers

    Heya Sam

    Apologies, mate.

So... what's the skinny on the new version of DL Guard?

Don't keep us hanging. DO I go and spend 400 hours pissing around with RAP or are you gonna give an approximate release date for the new version and a teaser as to what this "alleged" affiliate system holds?

    Cheers,

I use DL Guard - it's easy to install, and (In my opinion) excellent value. It pretty much does everything you will need.

    But, the best thing is...

...the service. Sam is very good... Kind of like Apple Pie.

    :-)

    Cheers

    No worries NightOwl

Approximate dates are always quite....approximate. At the moment it's early Q1, 2009.

It's coming along quite well, and I'm hoping to get a lot done on it over the Christmas break.

Believe me, I want this out as much as you do But as you also know, I don't like releasing not-quite-ready software just for the sake of making a release date.

I've built my reputation on quality, and I want to keep it

    cheers

I'll just add that I bought DLGuard and I thought that many of the features would not be important to me. I bought it intending to integrate with ClickBank and that's it. Boy was I wrong. I ended up making use of the PayPal features and the coupon features very often, plus the stats are extremely useful. This was the best purchase I made when I became a publisher.

DLGuard is very easy to use and very cool. My favorite features are the ability to automatically add customers to a different autoresponder and the seamless integration with PayPal.

TomG. - PS - Sam answers questions very quickly and politely!
