Quick Design Question

I am adding a right panel on my site and when I add it my header gets all messed up. Shall I delete the header then add the right panel and then reload the header or is there something else I am missing?

I use Xsitepro2 btw.

Regards,

Jan

Doesn't seem like enough info but to take a stab at it, let me ask you this:
When you add the right panel, is the site width still the same as the header width?
(main site width plus right panel width = header width)

That is the main thing I can think of. You don't say HOW it messes up your site.
Little more info and may be able to help.

Ok I know I was a bit vague.

My header width is 1263 px which is my main panel width + my left panel width. What I did was add my right panel and made it 200 Px and then reduced my main panel width to 863px.

Now my main panel width + left panel + right panel is 1263px but for some reason my page is too wide and my header on the right hand where I added my right panel is messed up. It added the same pic I have on my header on the left to the right as well.So it lloks like the 200px I added to the right panel also got added to the header panel and to make up for that 200 px the header just filled that space and it looks like crap. If that makes any sense?

Mmm, just a suggestion. Take off right panel, take off header. Then add right panel, then header last.
Kinda lost here without seeing it.
Are you using .css? That may be the problem.
If site is up---you could pm me the link or include here--I take a look.
Don't use xsitepro so don't know how you are building.

I don't use that program, but last time I had this issue, it was because I put my header into the top as background, instead of insert graphic. When the space for the header is larger than the head graphic, the graphic repeats itself to fill the space.

I use FrontPage which lets me create a top border. When I insert the graphic there, it pushes the page as wide as it needs. If it put a table in the top border to control what I put in it, and I put the graphic as "background", that's when I get that duplication I mentioned.

        Hope this helps.

I have it as a template and the original template doesnt have a right panel. Maybe thats why when I try and insert a right panel the site is too wide. Even though I am making the main panel and the left panel thinner.

I just need to figure out how to edit the template on Xsitepro.

          Thanks for the help though.

if you are using html, you should split your table accordingly to reflect the total panel/table dimensions.
