NEWBIE QUESTION...Where to start?

by quinn

Hi,

I am not a newbie to internet sales, I have always sold products on the internet. However, I am very new to the digital product market and the affiliate marketing. I find myself completely overwhelmed.

I started reading warrior forums because I sell physical products and wanted to get my sites ranked higher. I then became exposed to all this other stuff and I am so confused.

Is there a book or a resource that anyone can recommend to me where I can learn more about affiliates and how and where to get started?

Also, I have physical products that I sell and want to get affiliates for the products. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!

There is some absolutely great information on this forum alone without any further investment. Just have a good look around and dont be afraid to ask questions. There seem to be a lot of very friendly knowledgable people on here.

Just like you I am fairly new. It is great that you are asking questions, because there are many people that will give you great advice on here. When I first got started I looked at some information from Chris Farrell. He is a really good source to check out, because he gives you free step by step directions on building your list. You will hear that talked about a lot. It is the most important thing of all. You have to build and nuture your list.

        Hi Quinn,
I would suggest you to invest to some good basic course of trusted internet marketer. Knowing that you go "right direction" is probably most important thing in the beginning.

Try Ed Dale's The Challenge - just Google it and it'll come up. It gives you some really good basics and an outline so you'll get an idea of the bigger picture and how to get started. Oh, and it's free. Just read and learn as much as you can at this stage until you get a clear picture and then perhaps you may look at basic paid courses. There are many recommendations and reviews on the Warrior forum.

You could start with affiliate marketing. The best place for digital products marketplace is clickbank.com. Most people advocate for digital product promotion because the gratification to the customer is instantaneous. The downside is that there could be refunds, and then your affiliate commissions may take a knock.

Since you're knowledgeable in selling physical products, why don't you try cj.com and amazon affiliate program because they're networks for physical products.

I am thinking that I am missing out on so much of what I don't know. Also, I hope that by learning better marketing techniques...I can apply it to what I already do...selling physical products.

I would like to set up an affliate program for my physcial products as well. I just don't know enough to do anything like that yet....

In general, I think, it pays (if you can) to spend time rather than money, on the learning-curve. It always seems to end up being more worthwhile, because that way one tends to be acquiring experienced-based skills and knowledge rather than simply "single outcomes". Just my perspective.

I'm not an expert, but I suggest you check into selling your products on Amazon.com. With a little reseach, you should be able to figure out how to do this today.

I am blessed in the way that I have time to spend learning because I have an income source from products that I sell. I just want to learn the right way. The information is overwhelming. Every sales offer that I see...I want to buy...but the problem is what do I do with it after I buy it.

I am trying to learn wordpress right now since it seems like a lot of products are based on wordpress sites. I have a ton of ideas...just finding the tools to implement them is the challenge.

    Hello!

I was exactly in your shoes, 7 months ago. I had lots of experience of selling online via Ebay and Amazon but did not know about IM. The first thing I did was to learn about it. There are tons of free resources like the Challenge which will help you to make sense of it all before you "dive in".

    Good luck

Hi, when we first started we ended up spending a fair bit of cash before realising that there is a lot of people on the net selling stuff for there own gain, we did eventually start to make it in a niche area, and still do today, as well as now trying to help others, i would say the biggest thing to realise is find a market withn a group of eager followers 1st, and most of all make sure you can get to those people easilly, where do they hang out etc, this then makes marketing a lot easier and less cost effective, once you have ticked the boxes in these things then go on to research a product for that market, do not attempt to do it the other way around, we made that mistake, we found a fab product with a large market, we even went on radio, could we get to those people, nope, no chance without spending a fortune which would have outweighed sales, so market 1st, make sure you can get to them, ie, forums, youtube, google, facebook, articles, joint ventures etc, offline magazines, organisations, help groups, clubs etc etc, then product
