I think my first clickbank payment was around $400 too. I was way over the threshold and was expecting payment soon. Eventually I had to contact them to get payment sent. It seems like they are hoping some people simply forget about accounts they used and abandoned.

I had to call them once I reached my payment threshhold. Thats when they released my funds. They pay every 2 weeks

I think you have to have at least 1 payment from visa and 1 from master card.

You already have more than 5 sales but you don't seem to have any master card sales, i think thats the problem.

But i signed up for clickbank almost 4 years ago im not sure if they changed their tos.

I don't remember what hadhappened to me, but I had I think $173-odd for my first paycheuque and that was probbably with exactly 5 transactions. And I had not faced any issue with them. So I guess you could simply go ahead and call them (which I had not needed to do) and you should be good to go.

CB claims the distribution requirement is to protect sellers - but it isn't. Within a few months if an account is just sitting with commission in it and isn't paid because of the CB "requirements" - CB starts collecting money from it each month for "maintenance". Can totally drain an account as the fee goes up and up.

From CB

Sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers; and,
Sales made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, PayPal or European Direct Debit(ELV)). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers.

The statement in bold is a big threshhold for new CB affiliates these days as so many people use paypal. Years ago the "payment distribution requirement" was two different credit cards, then it changed to three and it changed to five at the same time Paypal began to be widely used. No coincidence there.

Determine exactly what cards you need used to "qualify" for the money you've EARNED - then give money to friends and family to make some small buys for you with those cards. Once you meet the requirement you won't have the problem again with that account.

It amazes me that CB gets by with this. Their reasons don't hold water as they could disallow commission when you buy through your own link...but they don't.

That is such a silly stipulation to get paid. They know full well that some affiliates just starting out will only get 1 or 2 sales before giving up. Why should it matter what payment type people are using for payment. Then again, maybe they have been the victims of intricate scams with refunds after commission has been issued.

I dont think they have an interest in people who "give up" after 2 sales. It took me also a LONG time until sales somewhat started rolling in consistently.

Best tip: Simply do NOT give up. If you can make 2 sales you can make 20, 200 or more.

There is also no point in cashing a cheque from two sales..your bank might take $30-$40 or so fee which wont really leave anything left....it would make sense to let it accumulate a little before cashing it in. And then DEFINITELY use direct depot as soon as you can.

About two years ago, I made around 20 ads for clickbank products.

I didn't touch those ads aside from renewing them every 90 days.

When I checked clickbank a few days ago, I saw that I already hit the
payment threshold and made it through the 5 different cards policy.

Having met the payment distribution policy, this means that
if ever I get new sales, I can now get paid faster right?

Clickbank is amazing, it's done absolute wonders for me. I've never had any problems with payments and I've been getting 5 digit pay checks from them. Definitely my favorite affiliate vendor.

In summary, Clickbank is a great network, with a simple and easy to use system, easy sign up and good support. While there are a few things that could be improved, overall Clickbank is a really accessible network that should be perfect for people first getting started in affiliate marketing.

I dont think they have an interest in people who "give up" after 2 sales. It took me also a LONG time until sales somewhat started rolling in consistently.

CB is a platform between the seller and the affiliate.

When the affiliates makes a sale the buyer pays the commission. The affiliate has earned the commission. It's none of CB's business whether you sell 2 or 200 items. It's none of their business whether all the buyers pay with paypal or with 5 different credit cards (people use paypal to pay with credit cards, too - remember?).

The rule is self serving by CB and there for no other reason. The seller is not refunded any unpaid commissions - the new affiliate is not paid commission he has earned. CB holds the money and then starts taking it for CB if the affiliate doesn't stay active or have sales for 90 days.

It's a predatory practice. It goes on because new affiliates aren't aware of the necessity for meeting the "qualifier" - and because once you meet it the problem ceases so you forget about it. Pretty slick for CB.

I suspect not, actually. I think the 5 different credit-card payments perhaps have to be divided between Visa and MasterCard, don't they? If this is right, and maybe even if it isn't, then you perhaps have only 4 of the credit-card sales you need for the purposes of qualifying for the customer distribution requirement.

That's my reading of what it says here, anyway. See what you think.

I suspect the "concealed point" here, if there is one, may be that American Express isn't technically a credit-card: it's actually a charge-card, which isn't the same thing? Possibly they may also issue credit cards, but I believe an AmEx card, in itself, is a charge-card, anyway.

Anyway, you might quickly get round this problem by asking a friend or relative to buy a $3/$4 product, with a MasterCard, through your affiliate-link, perhaps?

I hear the chocolate-cake recipe e-book is quite good (maybe $3.75?).

Not very much, here: maybe $200. And one of my initial 5 credit-card sales for the CDR was actually a product I bought through my own affiliate-link to decide whether or not I wanted to promote it as an affiliate.

kind of silly. But if you want to be a big CB player, you do what you gotta
do. That paypal thing can be a killer, as paypal is king. I know as
soon as I was explained these rules, I gave up on CB. Too much
work. CB has their reasons for paypal not counting, but I can't
even think of one.

Anyone who makes a bundle off of CB always has my admiration.
It's a different animal. One I just don't have the patience to tame.

I hear ya, Paul, but it's not really that silly. It's actually a pretty effective means of preventing customers from signing up for a fresh new Clickbank account and buying a product through their own affiliate link to receive a discount. Without CDR it would be a lot more difficult to get started (and even continue on) as a Clickbank affiliate ... depending on what sort of products you're selling and to whom, of course, and whether they're well-informed enough to know what an affiliate-referred sale is. Rest assured, though, that word would soon get around if indeed it was that simple. It's a necessary thing.

It's not so bad, though: you only have to satisfy this requirement once - not every payment cycle. And if you're taking the whole affiliating thing seriously, you can't very well help but meet the CDR at some point in the near future. Anyway, as Alexa frequently points out, when you're pretty close to doing just that (or even if you're not), you can have a friend/relative (or a few of them) buy something cheap through your affiliate link just to get you there. After that, it's all smooth sailin'.

Indeed. Exactly so.

I completely take Kay's point above about the CDR effectively being self-serving in conjunction with the outrageous dormant account charges. Nevertheless, without the CDR or something very like it, the system wouldn't really work, and it does protect affiliates (as well).

Try buying through your own amazon affiliate link - you can order a product and receive it. You will not be credited with any commission because you are not allowed to buy through your own link.

Difference is - Amazon really cares about preventing affiliates from buying through their own links. Provides good protection for affiliates and for sellers.

  Just an update, now I am scheduled to be sent a check on the 25th of May. So I guess I did meet the minimum credit card limit. The thing is it's been 2 pay periods since my last sell, do they not count a sell until after 2 pay periods?
  
  Also it says the check will be sent on the 25th, does anyone know how long it takes to be delivered?

  Nooo ... they go in the mail on the date specified; it's just however long the mail takes, can't be more than a couple of days inside the US, surely? They're mailed in Idaho, I think. I used to get mine (before switching to direct deposit) in about 4 days, and I'm in England.

It could so be that one person paid twice with a visa card, you need to check that. they will state it on the account as two different payments , however maybe they may want each visa card to be different, if you get what i mean.

I was waiting for a long time as well, my very first check was issued about 2 weeks ago, but i only saw the update last wednesday. I'm still here waiting to see it in the mail. i am from Jamaica so it will take a while i guess.

My 1st check is $195.00 . but i had $239 in my account. I think they will send the rest at a later period.

I tried Clickbank several years ago and had over $300+ in my Clickbank account at one point, then all of a sudden I stopped getting ANY commissions and each month they deducted from my account because I didn't have the right combination of cards used to purchase, so I just pulled all their banners from my sites and moved on.

Eventually, that $300+ dwindled to nothing (Clickbank kept it) but in a way I was happy because I discovered how shady 99% of Clickbank offers are and that I was only earning bad karma by promoting shams that I never got paid for anyway.

Since then, I've learned that clickbank is only scraping the bottom of the barrel as far as affiliate marketing is concerned. These days, I stick with reputable offers and reputable affiliate networks.

As many have said here, Clickbank tries to make it as hard as possible to get your commissions. I'll stick with CJ and Amazon who send me a bank wire every month. No checks to cash, no hassles, just money deposited into my bank account. Plain and simple.

Funnily enough, that's exactly what Clickbank does with my bank account.

They only deduct anything from your account after 90 days without a sale, and you can always buy a $3 product yourself to prevent the deductions and start the 90-day clock again. Still, I do agree that the dormant account charges are thoroughly reprehensible - just pointing out to others that there are ways around it.

Hi, based on the clickbank policy, to withdraw for the first time you need 5 sales

and there must be 2 different payment method, example:

1. visa
2. visa
3.visa
4.visa
5 .mastercard

NOTE: PAYPAL dont count for these 5 sale, just visa and master .

Had the same problem. Best of all, they keep deducting money for "account maintenance", starting at $1 per month and eventually jumping to like $10 per month.

I don't trust them for ****, but hey, they have some good products every now and then which might be worth promoting (about 0.01% of the time)

Those are the "Dormant Account Charges", and they apply only to accounts that haven't had a transaction processed for 90 days.

You don't have to pay them, if you don't want to.

All you need to do is buy one $3/$4 product through your own hoplink (or ask a friend/relative to do so), and that resets the clock and gives you another 90 days.

I guess making money with other people's money is part of their business plan. The number of people quitting after 2-3 sales must be in tens of thousands, and the money CB owes them in millions. Maybe even as much as 100 million.
I don't believe for a moment that this money could be sitting on a clearing account waiting to be transferred at a moments notice.

I had over $280 in my Clickbank account. One day I log in, caue I was expecting a pay, and all my money was gone! I contacted them and got some stupid, useless reply. Needless to say that I'll never use Clickbank again!

About the payout date listed:

I suspect that they actually mail out the checks a day or two earlier than that date because when I still got checks they also tended to arrive within a day or two of the "date" of the check.

When you use direct deposit, it arrives on THAT day (Wednesdays), which is cool. Also, you can lower your payout threshold if you like. I have mine set at $50, and I get paid weekly

You can choose weekly payouts with direct deposit.

One last thing... my first CB check was for more than $200, and I too bought something with my own Mastercard to finally get that check.
